Put an Eye Out CBS cancels ''Joan of Arcadia,'' ''Judging Amy'' -- The low-rated former hits get the ax, as does the Wednesday edition of ''60 Minutes'' by Mickey O'Connor
Oh, God. It's official. At the unveiling of CBS' fall 2005 lineup Wednesday, the network announced that it has axed Joan of Arcadia, the underdog-that-couldn't, despite last year's Emmy nomination for lead Amber Tamblyn and much critical love. A second-season ratings slump made continuing it not feasible, said CBS chairman Les Moonves, calling it one of his biggest disappointments.
In other cancellation news, a desire to attract a younger demographic has spelled the end for two graying CBS shows: The awards magnet Judging Amy has heard its final sentence, and the beleagured Wednesday edition of news warhorse 60 Minutes, which suffered after a story that questioned President Bush's military service proved to be false, will stop production as well.
So what will replace these dearly departed shows? Among the new series that the chatty Moonves held forth on: a comedy about a family of doctors; a drama about FBI profilers; and, er, Jennifer Love Hewitt seeing dead people. ''I think talking to ghosts may skew younger than talking to God,'' Moonves said. From his mouth to... oh, never mind.
The whole network needs cancelling.
My wife if brokenhearted over the cancellation of Judging Amy. I think it is the most irritatingly PC program on TV. It's like nails across a chalkboard everytime it comes on.
Hahhahahahhahaha! LMAO! Same with my wife and me. My wife loved it and I hated it. Amy was a pure effing nut case. All the men on the show were pussies, excepting the guy Kevin? I believe who left several years back. That show was nothing but a bucket coming up from a liberal septic tank.
I enjoyed a few of the episodes, but got pretty irritated with the artsy-fartsy side of it and the "boyfriend" who wore woolen hats portraying the sad, gifted obscure artist in youth.
Never watched any of the 3 shows.
I hope someone picks up The Amazing Race when they do.
Make that 2 1/2. I only watched the Jeffersons minus the NFL.
Did you hear they had to pull the plug on spinoff "CSI Morgantown"? [West Virginia.]
Yeah. Turns out, everybody has the same DNA, and there aren't any dental records!
Sorry, West Virginians, but I really like that joke.
Joan started going rancid around the time of last year's season finale--and this year trying to find sympathy for the devil (literally) was about the last straw for a lot of people. In truth, it was just another Hollywierd version of God, and heaven forbid they not show some "sensitivity" for the pain of the devil--overlooking the evil, of course.
Maybe CBS can do a "CSI - Petticoat Junction".
I couldn't bear to watch Judging Amy. It was almost beyond PC. Good riddance, although I admit I haven't watched it since about its third episode.
I never watched any of them either. Tried Joan once and watched it until she met a man in a hosital and said, "You mean they beat you up just because you are gay?"
Is The Evening News or 60 Minutes among them???
...and the beleagured Wednesday edition of news warhorse 60 Minutes, which suffered after a story that questioned President Bush's military service proved to be false, will stop production as well.
PAJAMA PEOPLE RULE!!!
Right after CSI- Bayone, New Jersey. LOL

Why can't we just cancel SeeB.S. and get it over with.
BUMP!!!
