By Peter Griffiths LONDON (Reuters) - British lawmaker George Galloway claimed victory over a U.S. Senate committee which accused him of profiting from the Iraq oil-for-food program in a triumphant speech to supporters on Wednesday.
"We blew them away," an emotional Galloway told a rally in London after giving evidence to the panel examining how former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein used oil to reward politicians

Time will tell.
We provide evidence in forms of documentation showing that he profitted in the oil-for-food debacle. He says he didn't, but cannot prove the docs are forgeries. Yeah, he wins. Right.
I hope Senator Coleman has riposte ready.
Ahem. The Right Honorable Gentlemen just blew. That's all.
Looks like this jerk took hubris lessons from BJ Clinton.
No. He took rhetorical lessons, hubris lessons and personal grooming lessons from Adolf Hitler.

Ohhhhh so... he DEFIANTLY rejected the documentations... I see...well that settles it then.
Damm thats good~!
Where is the evidence? Some of it we know was found during the war--the rest is on paper. No doubt the media, currently focusing its attention on inciting riots, is reluctant to publish any papers that might be leaked to them--or maybe the leaks have been plugged. In time, I suspect it will be proven that Galloway has been given ample lengths of rope--and that this is all he has "won."
I bet he's on Castro's Christmas card list, if commies have such a thing.
"You have to admire the mans cheek!"
I admire NOTHING about this person. By the way, welcome to FR. Enjoy your stay
Coleman was asked by reporter (Fox I think) why he let Galloway go off on his tangent the way he did.
COleman said that his job was to be the prosecuter in this ocmmittee, and to lay out the charges and listen to the rebuttals.
Whatever else Galloway said was immaterial to the committee so they just let him go on. I don't know that I agree, in fact I have not been able to listen to most of tht session for fear I will throw something thru the TV, but maybe it is a case of giving him enough rope or something.
I like that the Republicans behaving like gentlemen in a civilized manner but there is a fine line between being polite and being a doormat. I wish all the Republicans in the Senate were Karl Roves.
