It will be bad news for him this time in prison. People like him who harm children are treated as the lowest scum.
At least he was somewhat imaginative in his choice of weapons.
Removing this dumbass wife is not all bad either.
"I'd give my right arm to change that vote," said Bill Dalton, one of seven gubernatorial appointees on the board."
Maybe he should give his right arm even though he can't change his vote. It is insane that someone can beat another person to death with a pan and get out in five years when a person convicted of possession of drugs with intent to distributw could get likley even more time. Everyone on this parole board should be held responsible for this mans actions.
"Dalton said: "If you only let go good guys, you are not going to let anybody go."
Okay, let's not let anybody go. This is just sickening. I guess we can't blame this on the judge. Parole boards are just as bad I guess.
More 'justice' in America.
I swear, if our justice system doesn't get it act together and fulfill its basic function to dispense justice and protect society, society will be taking those matters into its own hands more and more.
Ugh
On top of that, she wasn't wearing a burka. She had it coming.
Some things about our system in this country I will never understand, like how does a five year prison sentence suffice for the horrifying murder of a person?
From which one might have concluded, this is a bad, violent man, who needs to be imprisoned for life or executed.
five years later ...
Earlier this month, Pope was charged with killing his wife with a hammer; strangling his 13-year-old stepdaughter; and fatally dropped and punched his 5-week-old son.
The time-line on this is pretty sketchy, but it almost seems like this was one of those "marry a guy in prison" situations, or immediately after he got out. Some people are just fatally gullible.
And dragging her daughter into that situation is unforgivable.
My only wish is that parole boards who make these mistakes would serve time after any re-conviction of anyone they release. That way they would be pretty damned careful not to release people till the full sentence had run.
5 Years for murder one is a travesty by any measure.
Who would have thunk it!? A murderer killing again!?
/sarc
Well, he appears to have anger management problems. You'd think the parole board would have guessed as much. Too bad. Now three more dead, two of them children.
Gee--he was only a few anger management classes away from being just fine. /sarcasm
I'd give a lot to charge Bill Dalton and his "friends" as a accessory to murder...
Vigilante justice may be the only kind of justice we have in this country anymore.
If you live in a society where no one has any responsibility for anything, statements like this make sense.
Another fine example of the effectiveness of "rehabilitation".
Its a shame that the touchy - feely parole board isn't in the next cell awaiting their trial for being accessories
I know they have a difficult job, but imo for endangering the public by releasing a murderer in spite of warnings from those who know him, they should do some community service and/or jail time themselves.
