I think people should respect his wishes and let him retire once Bush is out of office. He's stated multiple times that he does not want the presidency.

If he wanted it, he'd be our best candidate.

No, VP Cheney should not run for President. He needs to rest.

The Republicans should try acting like the majority party before thinking about winning another national election.

If he were in superior health and wanted the job, I'd give it to him in a heartbeat. The fact is, he's simply not the go-to guy for 2008 because of *health*. None are more disappointed than I.

I don't think Cheney is a good choice on several levels, not the least of which is his health.

Big Time needs to go back to Wyoming and recharge his batteries for the rest of his life. He has given many years in service of the Republic. Now he has earned his day in the sun.

If his health would be in jeopardy then I do not want him to do it. The man has given so much of himself to this country he deserves to enjoy his golden years in style with his wife and family.

Let's assume that Cheney is cleared healthwise to run for the WH, and that Bush wants him to get it. Logically, then you wouyld look for Bush to retire after the 2006 election..let Cheney step up and have the advantage of incumnbancy..Man..it' d be worth it just to hear the DUmmies go apes**t..

Is his health okay? Twelve plus years in the Whitehouse will wear down even the healthiest of people.

I have no problem with Cheney. What I worry about is *historically* it is likely that we will lose the white house next time. Now, the political environment has changed drastically, so I am no longer sure that there is historical precedence to be worried about this. The dems are in freefall and show no signs of stopping. But we must stay vigilant and take nothing for granted.

I do no fear Hillary running. She would lose. I actually hope they pick her.

I lean for Condi right now. She is everything the libs hate. I think she would attract a lot of new voters and swing voters.

It so early so this is mostly for fun. Im still catching my breath from the last election!

Rick, Rick, he's the man. If he can't do it, no one can.

Newest cheer for US Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.), who not only is articulate, he has a lovely family, kids, wife, etc.

He would probably make a better VP candidate, considering his young(er) age.

As for VP Cheney, I love him like a favorite uncle, but the only vote he would excite at this stage is the geriatric set.

The GOP should (must) continue to nominate candidates with fire in the belly, ones with vigor and stamina. And of course they must be ardent conservatives.

PS: John McCain should consider playing 'slow boat to China' with all his Demo buds. Hopefully the boat will spring a leak and never return.

He's not electable.
A good foot soldier but he has been demonized to the point that he can't win.
