It is with great regret and sadness that I must inform you of Frank Gorshin's passing today. I felt it was important to release this information to you, those who loved him best, before you heard it on the news.

Please know that, during Frank's sporadic moments of lucidity while he was struggling these past few weeks with pneumonia, he wanted you all to know how much he appreciated the prayers and well wishes of you, his loyal fans.

There will never be another like him. We will miss him dearly.

Frank Gorshin 4/5/34-5/17/05 Frank will always be my friend ...John Stacks

Besides the Riddler, I remember him playing a bad guy in an old Charlie's Angels episode where they were on the Love Boat. Well, not really the "Love Boat" but they used the same set.

That was one of the best Star Trek eps ever! And I remember watching from the original season.

Frank was a native of Pittsburgh PA, by the way. Our local papers always included that fact when they reported on his success in other parts of the country.

I remember seeing him in a nightclub in San Fran circa 1974, he gave a good show.

I remember that too. I miss the old 'Burgh of the sixties.

Gorshin at his boyhood home in Garfield. (Rest in Peace.)

I miss the old 'Burgh of the sixties.

That house looks exactly like a typical Pittsburgh city homestead. But the city's finances have tanked since then. Pittsburgh is fighting bankruptcy and city unions who are bleeding the city dry and high taxes and a bad bond rating and folks fleeing to the suburbs and crime....well, you know the score.

I have a feeling even though his birthdate says 1934 he was a bit older

Maybe. The ABC radio news story said 72. A friend of mine dropped dead at 58 last week, total surprise. 72 is not bad.

probably makes him the youngest villian on Batman(32 years old),, he looked very old ten years ago,, and if he was born in 1934 he was 71 years old(I think his agent fudged his age when he started out)

Did he just recently star in a one man show playing George Burns? I bet it was great.

He's always been a favorite of mine. Hate to hear of his passing (it was confirmed on the news a moment ago). His impressions were some of the best in the business. RIP, Frank.
