...and he owes his Senate seat tot he fact that the Dems wouldn't report his nomination to be a federal judge out of the SJC comittee..so he went back home and beat them at their own game...

My first wife always put an ice cube in her hot coffee to cool it....

Watch it. Next Schumer and the libs will be trying to appoint snoop dog to the SCOTUS. ( "Ice Cube" is the name of a rapper, although now I think he acts as well. Sorry, I could not resist...)

How do people like this get elected and why are people so stupid as to vote them in again and again??

For Schumer, he was losing to Alfonse D'Amato until D'Amato called him a "putzhead" on the radio. Schumer used that to call D'Amato a bigot because "putz" means "penis" in Yiddish. Schumer also pointed out how D'Amato had made similar remarks about Lance Ito during the OJ trial (talking in broken Asian-immigrant talk), and then won the election.

I'm guessing that the Dems will have a net loss of 2 mill votes because of this display of arrogance.

The lie was that she was an activist judge and that even Alberrto Gonzales said so. Not true, and Gonzales has said he did not think so nor was his comment about that decision directed to her.

You watch, the dems will accuse Frist of playing the "race card"!!!!!

Tsk, tsk, they may just end up losing so many seats in 2006, that there will be (even with RINOS)enough REPS to withstand any filibuster and close any vote!!!!

YESSSSSSS!!!

I would love to see the Lt. Governor of Maryland run for Sarbanes seat--Michael ??? (my memory is shot)

When Frist walks in, he gets the floor. At that time, he need only seek a cloture vote. The nuclear option proceeds from there.

There is more than one possible route to whatever event one decides to call "the nuclear option." I don't believe cloture is a necessary element of that path.

Even if a cloture motion is brought, that, of its own, does not "trigger" a change of rules. Indeed, that is operating in the rules the same way that was non-contentious to the DEMs over the past 3 years. What would be different would be to reject the outcome of a cloture vote, i.e., rejection of a need for 60 votes to force the vote.

I have speculated that the matter of handling nominees, now underway, will proceed without the GOP calling for cloture. Cloture substitutes for unanimous consent to take the vote. The argument is that the cloture process itself is inapplicable to nominees. Given no limit on debate, there is no need to close debate. When debate is done, vote.

yes, they'll accuse him of racism as they accused of being susceptible to Theocracy.

Micheal Steele is almost a guarentee to run for the Maryland Senate. It'll be one of many very interesting races up in '06.

Woman on Rush, neighbor and good friend of Janice, defending Janice and furious at what the Dems have said about her. She's an african American one..losing her and others because of their arrogance. Told them for years party of poor and minority, but then try to squash them from moving up because they don't think in step.

Thank goodness for the bloggers and American citizens, the internet allows us to expose their lies in real time and disallows them lying w/impunity. Somebody has to do it because the MSM have forfeited their own credibility.

Thanks..... I guess Gonzales must have been speaking of Justice Hecht when he made his comments about judicial activism in that Parental Notification case.

I don't think it is that much of an issue but it is open to debate, imo. I do think that Justice Gonzales was correct in his concurring opinion and Justices Owen and Hecht were wrong, but my opinion doesn't matter.
