The first election results are in...mail ballots only.
Rounding off the numbers, it come out to 51% for Villaraigosa and 49% for Hahn.
Do these numbers look better for either candidate?
Opinions anyone?
>>If Villaraigosa is still leading, I'll have a brandy, to dull the pain, ;) and go to bed.
Where's that fightin' spirit?... don't give up until at least Bulletin #3! LOL.
Have a brandy for me too!
The problem isn't that Villaraigosa is Hispanic, the problem is that he is RACIST and a SOCIALIST, and the best friend gangs and criminals could ever have. He voted against crack down on gangs.
I don't necessarily disagree. However, the tendency toward corruption comes with the territory in SoCal hispanic politics. Have you lived there? If you haven't, you might not comprehend the pervasive Mexicanization of local politics.
There are many legal immigrants from Mexico who support the Minutemen, but at the same time they will succumb to nationalism and vote for Mexican politicians they know are crooked.
I live in LA, so I am qute aware of what's going on.
But I repeat, the problem is NOT Villaraigosa's national origin, it's his membership in MEChA, leading role in the ACLU, and general support for gangs, that's the problem.
Given a choice between a Mexican candidate who avidly supports same-sex marriage, and a radical non-hispanic candidate who supports immigration, it's just as likely that the Mexican population would choose the hispanic candidate, for self- serving nationalistic reasons.

Who cares?
Those of us who live in Los Angeles care very much.
Villaraigosa will be a major disaster for the city, if elected, and right now it's looking that way.
Los Angeles has been a disaster for decades. No change.
Definitely a run off between dumb and dumber, But which one is which. God help the city whichever one wins, L.A. is screwed.
LA is in love with its self image and likes to screw itself.
Bulletin #2 9:47:49 PM VOTES PERCENT ANTONIO R. VILLARAIGOSA 71,621 53.36 JAMES KENNETH HAHN 62,610 46.64
UPDATE: In an hour they managed to count a little over 15,000 votes!
Bulletin #2
9:47:49 PM
135,649 9.23% reporting ( at 8:35 120,000 or so were reporting).
Villaraigosa leading: 53.36 to 46.64
And I can't even console myself with Rosendahl beating enviro-wacko Flora.
Flora leading 50.48 to R. 49.52
Time to give up.
Bottoms Up!
Most are from districts 1 & 4. Anyone knows what area those are?
Probably V areas, near downtown. That is why the big bump on not much more. That happened last time too. Why? Because the drive to the counting place is shorter. 55-45 continues to be about right, with a skewed bell curve, ie, the V margin is more likely to be higher than that, than lower.
District 4 is Tom LaBonge... John Ferraro's old district. Mixture of blacks and wealthy yuppies. Kenny Hahn's son should be doing better here.
So, in a race between a democrat hack and an identical democrat hack, who gets to use the democrat fraudulent vote machinery?
Thanks.
Well, it looks like it's all over.
26% reporting, Villaraigosa is way ahead. 55.7 to 44.27.
What is the matter with people?!
No worries.
They will all become good little conservatives one day like magic.
