In today's climate of heightened religious sensitivities and cultural clashes, now is the time for people of all faiths to better acquaint themselves with Islam's sacred text, the Holy Qur'an, The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is proud to announce a new campaign intended to promote understanding of the Qur'an by distributing complimentary copies to the American public. This campaign, titled Explore the Qur'an, serves as a response to those who would defame and desecrate the holy book of Muslims without full knowledge of its teachings.
False and uninformed accusations have been leveled against the Qur'an for some time. But now, this initiative places the sacred text directly in the hands of those who claim to know the book's "darkest secrets" and encourages them to discover the truth about Islam. Explore the Qur'an allows the book to speak for itself, responds to its critics, and educate those of other faith traditions about the beautiful religion of Islam.
For more information about the project, or to request a copy of the Qur'an via telephone, please call 1-800-78-ISLAM (47526)

You are so right. I am a high school teacher. Right after 9/11 those bastards brought materials to all the school libraries. I compared the Koran they brought with a real one (1956 Dawood translation, unsanitized): where the real Koran says, over and over, "Kill them wherever you find them...", the sanitized one says something to the effect: "...talk things over with them wherever you find them..." Now, as seriously as they take it when someone ELSE blasphemes the Koran, I can't for the life of me understand why they think it's alright to take "the ultimate word of allah" and rework it to suit sensibilities. I think it's part of one of the dicta: "...use every strategem...". A strategem is a calculated, deliberate prevarication. You see, they have this copout: no translation other than arabic is really the word of allah, anyway, since he is an arabic speaker. Oh, silly me.
Hey, I'm all for this. Every Freeper should take advantage of this opportunity. Let them waste money trying to recruit us instead of spending it on bombs.
I'm glad to hear that it is sanitary, but is it just as soft as other brands?
Does this mean that you do not get the original version? Aw shucks.
Crazy Moe.
Good One :)
Hmmm
I just might order one, the pages could be useful for draining the fat off of bacon and sausage.
On second thought, if you and your buddies are planning a Koran-grilled pig bake or a mass crush & flush, make sure the address you provide is an anonymous P.O. box that can't be traced back to your house.
The plagarized from ancient jewish texts koran is nothing to be proud of.
Thanks for providing this information. I have read the same before on other sites, but happy you put it here. How are we defaming the Koran when it is clearly written they they hate everyone that is non Muslim and have permission from Allah to kill us?
They are taught this hatred from an early age, I don't think we can ever be at peace with these people.
Most Merciful? Oft-Forgiving? Oft? Oft NOT! Lop off heads! Bastards.
It's a devil's cult dammit!!!
here's for educational purposes, the Sahih Bukhari translation of the koran.
i.e.
Volume 4, Book 52, Number 176:
Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar:
Allah's Apostle said, "You (i.e. Muslims) will fight wi the Jews till some of them will hide behind stones. The stones will (betray them) saying, 'O 'Abdullah (i.e. slave of Allah)! There is a Jew hiding behind me; so kill him.' "

No thanks, I don't read Arabic and, as we all know, it is an outrage to print the Koran in any language except Arabic. We wouldn't want to inflame the emotions of those terribly mature and self-confident muslims now would we?
Try newspaper. Cheaper and more absorbant. Toilet paper is good too. I like Charmin.
I found that you can rip the pages out and use them to light your barbeque.
I understand.
It has been made painfully clear to me.
Anyway, I could use some free toilet paper!
