"The Mexicans are coming! The Mexicans are coming!" Sometime early (or late) this evening, we'll know whether the future actually got here. Antonio Villaraigosa, a charismatic city councilman with movie-star looks, goes into the runoff as a slight favorite to defeat the one-term incumbent, Jim Hahn, to determine who will be the mayor of the nation's second city for the next four years.

The future of California is Hispanic.
I hope that it has nothing to do with Mexico.
yawn.
LA is toast, but it was already headed in that direction.
And to think that back in the 1950's and 1960's, Los Angeles was the envy of the country, and so many Americans of that period dreamed of moving there someday.
The vast majority of the illegals are dirt poor. They will do what the impoverished do, they'll tear down anything they are given until it resembles that which they are used to. Quite frankly I'd like to give them Southern California, except that it's OUR DAMN LAND!
Villarigigosa is a strong supporter of the illegal aliens. He is also but until recently a Mecha supported, just changed his stripes in order to get the vote. I am glad I don't live in Los Angeles County. It is little (not no little anymore) mexico. They can stay out of southern Orange county as they have pretty much invaded north orange county. I'm afraid Hahn has lost the election
Like most American cities, the lefties have ruined L.A.
what is left are the few wealthy lefties paying huge taxes for the welfare masses...
L.A. has unfortunately become one HUGE catbox!
Semper Fi,
Kelly
Too many Zorro movies
If the polls are correct, Antonio will in a landslide. One more nail in the coffin for the Gringo in LA.
im sorry but Mexican don't come here for "freedom"
I think I'll ask some of those yankees that have moved down South and now want everthing just like it was up there that same question.
How can you get excited about an election that pits a hopelessly incompetent Democrat against a radical Democrat?
Maybe Villagrosa will at least be entertaining.
D
Of course they do...freedom from a corrupt govt, freedom to earn a good wage etc.
LOL...good one. I'd be interested in the answers you get...I REALLY would.
There are.
I don't live in one of them.
Have you ever been to public housing areas? They are usually run down, with broken fences and trash on the stoop. They once were as new as could be, with names like HopeVI something or other. The people that trashed the old places, think that a new place will fix everything. What they need to do is raise themselves and their neighborhoods up by their own efforts. Well, the US was once a new thing, with shiny windows and clean neighborhoods, the tenants ruined it because it was free......
