OK, folks..let's se what going to happen today as we move closer to the showdown in the Senate. Live, at 1 PM EST on C-span 2, "Searchlight" Reid is holding a presser to discuss judicial nomination. The Senate then convenes at 2PM, and as Majority Leader, Frist will make the opening statement. Then Reid will speak. Frist as pissed at Reid last week..for announcing a possible compromise on the Senate floor without FIRST telling him of it..and Frist has yet to speak about Reid's comments about FBI files. Should be fireworks..

As much as I like Toomey it is a shame that he is in such a liberal state like pennsylvania that gave rendell so much support.

After seeing the liberal suburbs in philly flock to kerry in the last election i think it is impossible for a good republican like santorum or toomey to get elected in the current demographics in pa.

I don't agree with you regarding Frist, and I have been as critical of Frist as anyone on FR. He is very deliberate, and maybe it's because he's a surgeon by profession and not a politician. I have changed my mind regarding his waiting to do this anyway. Reid's comments on the jurist prove that if you give demonrats enough rope, they will always hang themselves. It's been as slow as honey dripping off a spoon on to a biscuit, but the time is now here. If we lose this, let's remember that we can "Daschle" these folks in less 2 years, and I'm including RINOS in this mix.

Frist has been whining and threatening since the spring of 2003, and he still hasn't done anything.

I bet if I checked, I could say the same about you - at least regarding whining.

The GOP made a conscious decision not to pull the trigger prior to the 2004 elections. Same with 2002. And in both cases the gamble paid off. But the GOP does not have that luxury any longer, and the leadership knows it.
