At the end of the day the Afghan people are going to turn on us. It may not happen tomorrow, or next week, but it is going to happen. There is no such thing as "moderate" Islam. These people may have been war ravaged enough to tolerate us for awhile, but they will in short order heed the call of their radical religion which forbids friendship or cooperation with Christians and Jews. We are not going to be able to continue paying off their warlords forever. The very people we liberated from horrific conditions will soon thank us for it will bullets in the heads of our service people.
If we feel we must retain a footprint (occupation) in Afghanistan, we must be willing to take decisive action when this sort of nonsense comes up. If after 3 days these nuts declare holy war on the US, we should simply classify them as enemies to the coalition and arrest or kill all of them and any followers they may have. The way to successfully win and/or occupy nations is to make sure the populace knows that if they rise against you, they and all the things they care about will be annhilated. We apparently don't have the stomach for that sort of thing in this polically correct media age, and until we do we should avoid hanging around in these Islamic countries.
