Remember the corruption and conspiracy of the Keating 7?
McCain was right in the middle of that.

Hmmm, wasn't aware of that. Got any background info?

It was the Keating Five. McCain and DeConcini, both from Arizona, were up to their elbows in it. McCain was the only Republican involved and escaped press scrutiny in a way few Republicans ever do. Turned out it was because the press really knew he was a commie bozo like them.

Thanks Luke for correcting me on the numbers of conspirators.
If I recall there was something to do with a savings and loan company owned by.....I think it was a Thomas Keating. There was some land deals and some kickbacks involved if I recall. I think Keating and at least one other involved got some prison time. McCain somehow was able to cover his tracks good enough that the investigation, at least what we were told, was inconclusive of bringing charges against McCain. This happened I think in the early 1980's, around the same time as the savings and loan FDIC crisis.

Smells like a coverup and there are still a lot of unanswered questions McCain has not adequately answered.
And was the investigation fully implemented or was there a coverup? McCain should never be trusted, especially since he has held office for so long IMHO.
