That's what I thought. "From the Oregonian?" If the Eugene paper denounces him too, then I know this guy is toast.
OTH, maybe the editorial board sneaks these in so they can claim to be fair and balanced without hurting the local democratic machine.

Please no "Dirty Harry Callahan" references. Dusty/Dingy harry reid(no caps necessary) could not even pick up the real Dirty Harry's jock strap. It would be too weighty for him.

"Reid is a problem of Republican making."AMEN to that. They rolled again in this past election, buying into the "But his seniority will get Nevada extra goodies."
Pubbies like these in Nevada, and elsewhere, don't deserve to be in power. {The Pubbie rep I told this to was horrified. - Totally clueless.)

OR, is there nothing in the files and he is just blowing smoke? Either way, something should be done about this cretin. Of course, the Democrats won't do it and the Republicans are too ball-less. So....

HARRY REID
When I hear his name, I think of two things:
The Don Corleone of Nevada.
Think "Senator Pat Geary" from Godfather II.

No kidding. Oregon is chock full o' libs (esp. Portland and Eugene areas) and for The Oregonian to publish something this critical of a leading Dem is bad news indeed for them. This is a column by their token conservative, not a major editorial.

This is a column by their token conservative, not a major editorial. And as a result, he'll spend the next six months slogging through vile, hysterical, threatening e-mails and a coordinated campaign of Letters to the Editor seminar hate messages.

Whenever I hear about "McCarthyism," I think of what was said by Jolton' Joe on the Senate floor just after his Wheeling speech that started it all:
"The Senator from Illinois demanded, loudly, that I furnish all the names. I told him at that time that so far as I was concerned, I thought that would be improper; that I did not have all the information about these individuals . . .I have enough to convince me that either they are members of the Communist Party or they have given great aid to the Communists: I may be wrong. That is why I said that unless the Senate demanded that I do so, I would not submit this publicly, but I would submit it to any committee - and would let the committee go over these in executive session. It is possible that some of these persons will get a clean bill of health . . ."

Reid should be brought up on ethics charges. The GOP is so gutless they will lose their majority next year and this guy will be the leader the way things are going.

What utterly amazes me is that, after Sen Lott was drummed out of his leadership position because of some off the cuff, and totally innocuous remarks at a senior Senator's birthday, Reid should be allowed to stay in his position, and today on Fox News Sunday, Mitch McConnell would not even comment on Reid's remarks, much less call for his ouster.
If the Republicans cannot put enough pressure on their own Senators to call for Reid to leave, then there really is not a GOP worth paying much allegiance to anymore.

Didn't President Nixon catch a lot of heat for having one or two FBI Files? A man went to jail, Colson, for two years. Mrs. Clinton had/has in her possession over 1000 FBI Files. Did she ever have to serve time? No. And, Reid a democrat will get a pass as well.

And yet, the people of Nevada re-elected that schmuck.

Reid should now be run out of the Senate. He should be charged as stated above. And Judge Saad should sue him for slander. The slander is on the record and should stand legal muster quite easily.
It sure shows what idiots, the democrats like Reid have stooped to these days.
Just imagine if a Republican Senator had said this. It makes my head spin that they can get away with this.

You would think that Nevada would be the least likely of all the fifty states to be suckered into believing that a slug like Reid is the real thing.
