Remember, ignoring problems makes them go away.

Not sure what you are saying. Instead of my guessing, how about elaborating a bit. Thanks.

Also.. the United States is the #1 Polluter? Yeah, right. I am guessing all those third world nations and china, russia, etc are as clean as the wind driven snow, right? heh.

Even the air at the underground curbside at Los Angeles International Airport is cleaner that what you find in China. I've stepped off the plane many times and take a big breath of air and thought, wow, how nice. Seriously.

The U.S. has the cleanest air of any country that I have traveled to. That we have the dirtiest air is a whole lot of nonsense.

Great. Let them shut down their own cities and show us how it's done.

We could help them along by filing a class action lawsuit for the failure to meet one Kyoto regulation or another. Anyone know a good one we could go at them with?

Then let the citizens vote. They must be more intelligent than you idiots!

Don't bet on it.

"...had the Bush administration not rejected the Kyoto Protocol..."

And had the Clinton administration not rejected it -- and had the US Senate not rejected it.

Even the signatories to it at least have enough sanity to violate its senseless terms.

"Then let the citizens vote. They must be more intelligent than you idiots!"

"Don't bet on it."

I'll bet on it. Diverse groups generally outperform less diverse groups of individuals. And in this case, the less diverse group happens to be stupid and liberal.

I'd be interested to see the statistic on what percentage of the nation's greenhouse gases that would be cut if Kyoto were implemented are from these cities

I'm HOPING they're smart enough to know that their actions aren't going to cause a huge difference in greenhose gasses. I'm thinking they're mostly trying to score political points. After all it is all Bush's fault.

I am all for this. I have always lived in places with clean air, and I get irked at so-called enviornmentalists who live in LA and NYC making onerous rules for the rest of us. Let them clean up their own cities.

Seattle IS attempting to provide "green" energy,

See this goes right along with our mandated green public buildings that cost more to maintain and keep people less comfortable.

There are a number of methods for generating electricity that don't produce greenhouse gases.

Nuclear power...

If they were REALLY concerned about so-called "greenhouse gasses" they would use nuclear power.

It produces none of those...

I bet not a single one of them knows what's really in the Kyoto Treaty.

Someone should stick a mike in their faces and ask them.

On camera.

"Let them clean up their own cities."

Yes, it makes sense. Unfortunately, with liberals there's no guarantee that local laws won't end up being imposed on everyone, anyway.

Personally, I think most cities are so morally and culturally decayed that air quality should be rather low on the list of "improvements." But that's just me. :)
