"The Mayor before was "Kitty" Katz, a pathetic leftist lug-nut."

You are absolutely right about that.
However, she was against leaving the Joint Terrorism Task Force.

So...what does that make Tom Potter?

"You should have seen the fun I had during the election sporting my "Swift Boat Vets for Bush" on my car and totally upsetting the libs."

YO...same here, dude.

I am VERY glad my car wasn't "keyed". ;o)

Things are getting better!

It appears that the Legislature won't increase taxes.
For some reason, they can't find an excuse. ;o)

Thank you so much for your service.
I hope you get decent A/C.
You deserve nothing less.

This scumbag hypocrite Mayor Tom Potter sounds downright proud that his city is so liberal. I guess he likes being mayor of a foul toilet. Get our military folks OUT of that place, now.

I was kinda worried about that too but came through it all UNscathed. Had a few digits flashed at me, but with all the Swift Boat talk I think many didn't want to say much to me if they were skerry people. Bush voters would get a BIG smile or ask questions about it. In all these years, very few knew what a Swift Boat was or had ever even seen a picture of one until the election.

Vera Katz is a Marxist.
But, when compared to Tom Potter,
she would appear to be moderate.

"Had a few digits flashed at me..."

LOL! I did, too, along with some "choice" words.
I just smiled, and went on my way.

The Bush supporters were very nice.
They would smile and, sometimes, give a "thumbs up".

I'm glad the Swifties and POWs got their story out.
It was about time...

We owe them...BIG time.

Ironically, there is an equistrian statue of Theodore Roosevelt in downtown Portland. TR won OR in the 1912 Bull Moose campaign. I wonder why someone there hasn't started a campaign to remove TR and replace him with Kofi Annan or some other popular liberal.

California is not my home state, Michigan is, but never-the-less, I don't really care if I ever go to Delaware anyway, Texas is my favorite place...

You MUST be kidding. I lived in Oregon forty years ago, long before Californians starting moving there in any numbers. I went to school in PDX and the politics there were easily as "progressive/lib" as the Bay Area. When you've got Reed College and the U-of-O as "feeder" systems, you're gonna have a seriously leftist tilt in the voting population.

In fact, most folks from OC, San Diego, or the Inland Empire would be thoroughly put off by Oregon's "progressive" politics.

I still remember the day we attacked Afghanistan. I was out gardening and I heard the jets flying overhead and knew instantly that the war had started. I can't tell you what a comforting feeling it was knowing that we had our warriors up in the air keeping guard over us.

Portland didn't think about that, they can't whine now.

"I don't want to see our area's ability to respond to any emergency or outside threat diminished by sending our pilots and planes elsewhere."

You see, Mr. Mayor, it's that we want to use your 18 jets and 240 positions to protect AMERICANS.
