Some conservatives were angered by President Bush's decision to attend the military parade in Russia, where the Red Army was honored for its role in World War Two sixty years ago. The Red Army has a record of bloodshed that exceeds even that of the Nazi SS units.
The leaders of Lithuania and Estonia acted on principle, and decided to boycott the military parade in Russia honoring the Red Army, with communist hammer and sickle flags in full display. While we remember the victims of Nazism, we should not forget the tyranny that the Baltics and the rest of Eastern Europe was subjected to for over 40 years.
Communism killed 100 million people in the 20th Century, double the number who died in World War Two. America should build a memorial to victims of the Communist genocides in Ukraine, China, Cambodia, Russia, Vietnam, etc.

General Motors produced both more tanks and more airplanes during WWII than Germany and Japan combined. Yes, we would have won without the Russians. Battle of Britian 1940 - Germany loses, there will be no invasion of Britian (No Operation Sea Lion). Russia not invaded until 1941.

No way, if Russia and Germany were allied throughout the war and joined forces conventionally we wouldn't have won. * million Russian troops armed with German weapons? not to mention the German Luftwaffe would have been far more advanced given a few more years. The huge German buildup that went into Russia could have stayed back and cut us down. Not to mention we wouldn't have the Russians helping us secure Germany, do you know how many Russians died just securing Germany? Think about it if Germany doesn't move all its assets towards Russia we would have been screwed.

You are basing your position on "what ifs" when we know the facts. Germany's westward advance was already stopped before Russia was invaded.
The Russians would have been a non-issue if they stayed allied with Germany. Proof 1) Finland 2) Germany couldn't outproduce the USA or even come close to US production. The only reason the Russians were able to do anything is because the US supplied them. Quality counts for little when you are outnumbered.
"German Luftwaffe more advanced.." Germany lost the Battle for Britain in the air, no what ifs about it.
"Huge German build up that went into Russia..." As I recall, the USA had its own build up against Japan and Germany at the same time, and supplied the Russians as well at the same time.
"if Germany hadn't moved all its assets towards Russia.." Germany was fighting against American supplies on both fronts, while the USA was supplying the Pacific front as stated. Whether the war was fought on 1 front, 2 fronts, or even 3 fronts; Germany was going to be under supplied to defeat the American forces.
Germany declared war on the USA only because it had a mutual defense agreement with Japan. Hitler and the German command never gave any consideration to the USA as a threat. At the time Poland was invaded and defended itself with horse mounted cavalry the US Army also used horses as its main military transportation for troops. Things changed fast and being socialist, the Germans had no reference point to image how fast the change would be and that the US free market economy could supply three fronts, and massively out supply the enemy on all of them.
The Germans had quality equipment but not the production ability to make their quality a deciding factor.
