Your tag line is hilarious.
All thse closings, but we have 1 billion a year for health care for illegal aliens.
Maybe Terry Schiavo is in a better place than to see her local base being closed and thus decimating the her community. (Thats a little Friday black humor for you)

Well they will be scratching their heads over that one then, since 5 years ago the liberals were crying that Bush was going to increase the size and scope of the military beyond reason.

My building is right next to the Tulsa ANG facility. Nothing like hearing an F-16 take off when you aren't expecting it!

So true. But not me. Born on a B52, okay, on base, and I love the sound. So much, I live in a flight zone to this day. Anyone that complains about the noise, family included, get the hairy eyeball and told.. hey, they are protecting your mouth right now. They usually shut up.

i seem to remember th navy trying something liek that with eb and newport news. nn had never deon a new class of subs from ground zero. eb had to do major redesigns for them. eb does a better job of building boats, but united nuclear built better reactor cores than babcock and wilcox (can you say TMI?) quality didnt' save them.

Sounds like P-3 squadrons to me as well -- my daughter and son-in-law are assigned to the squadrons. Lack of hangar space to work on the planes in winter could have impacted.

Ellsworth is the second largest employeer in South Dakota. This will hurt big time.
I guess we won't be getting that new Wal Mart now. (sarc) WalMart the largest?

Groton, Connecticut, is a submarine base. Electric Boat Div. of General Dynamics is in Groton and they build and have built many of the nuclear subs. That area will be hurting if it's closed, I know. Portsmouth is the Portsmouth Navy Yard in Portsmouth, VA.
