Am I missing something? Wouldn't the BP want to INCREASE arrests to prove the ineffectiveness of the Minutemen? I don't understand how holding arrests down after the Minutemen have gone proves the BP can handle the job alone.
It isn't about handling the job alone. It's about proving that the normal number of arrests is in the hundreds, not in the tens of thousands.
However, we have newspaper accounts going back two full year wherein the BP have published their apprehension numbers for this sector...they arrest between 700 and 1300 per day on any given day.
For the month of April, less than a thousand were apprehended all month long.
