U.S. Border Patrol agents have been ordered not to arrest illegal aliens along the section of the Arizona border where protesters patrolled last month because an increase in apprehensions there would prove the effectiveness of Minuteman volunteers, The Washington Times has learned.

"U.S. Border Patrol agents have been ordered not to arrest illegal aliens along the section of the Arizona border where protesters patrolled last month because an increase in apprehensions there would prove the effectiveness of Minuteman volunteers..." If they are not working, will they still be paid? Or more succinctly, what the xxxx will they be doing and why should we pay them for that??

This issue has been talked about for some time on the Yahoo Groups associated with border issues, but no one seems to be able to come up with the document that proves the orders were given. Until that document is made public, this story will be nothing more than an allegation and the legitimate press will not touch it.
But I would like to see the document found and shown on the air, and then watch the heads begin to roll.

This just proves who pulls the strings in this country...arrogant corporate thieves with a hotline to the WH.

This is Michael Nicely's order.

Border Patrol Sector Chief Wants To Ensure Minuteman Project Appears To Have Failed
"I recently received an email from a man by the name of Ben Anderson, whom I have on good authority is well connected with sources within the Border Patrol in the Cochise County, AZ, area.
This email detailed a plan by Chief Michael Nicely, of the U.S. Border Patrols Tucson Sector, to make sure that arrests of illegal aliens in the area where the Minuteman Project (MMP) was conducted were kept to a minimum. This apparently in an attempt to make the MMP appear to have been less effective than it actually was."

If this story grows legs, somebody needs to be fired and/or impeached.
This is despicably arrogant behavior toward the American people.

These folks (BP/ICE) leadership ..... need to be transferred to the Canadian border. That's right, the Canadian border with Alaska.

Any reasonably smart bureaucrat will not put such an order in writing or it will be in the form of bureaucratize that talks about efficiencies, streamlining, regularizing procedures, etc. that can be construed as meaning anything, but the ICE agents know they mean take minimal effort and do paperwork rather than apprehend illegals.
This sounds like an opportunity for an oversight hearing that won't be able to prove the allegation, but could beat up the ICE management.

Considering the unholy alliance between the PC left and the open-borders Republicans, I'm afraid I have no difficulty believing this.

So the US government is openly practicing malfeasance. Makes them open to charges of 'Obstruction of Justice'.

This sounds about right. They really don't want to stop the flow of illegal immigrants, and they hate the fact that a private group stepped on their toes. Weren't border agents arrested yesterday for drug trafficking and other charges?

Tucson Border Sector Chief Michael Nicely has ordered the Border Patrol to ensure that Illegal Alien apprehensions are kept to an absolute minimum so as to disprove the impact of the recent month-long Minuteman Project. So who gave this guy his orders? Did they come from HomeLand Security?

There is something I DON'T understand anymore about some of FR.
If this had been klintler, behaving like Bush currently is, we'd be screaming and posting facts to have 'his head served up on a platter'/impeached/prosecuted/called to task/ETC ETC.
Why is Bush 'worthy' of the double standard in the wink and a nod department? Is it because he's not sKerry, not a demoncrap, not someone we voted against?
