PETA Gets to Your Kids

Radical animal-rights activists may be the last people you'd think would be planning school lessons for your children. Well, think again. Through its innocuous-sounding "educational" programming arm known as TeachKind, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has found a way to reach school children starting as young as kindergarten with its extremist agenda. The opportunity for PETA (search) to gets its message into the classroom has been paved, at least in part, by various laws on the books in at least 12 states mandating humane education in public schools — thus creating a demand for curricula centered on teaching children about the humane treatment of animals. Naturally, PETA is only too happy to provide ready-made lesson plans, videos and handouts to already overworked teachers.

Apparently no one watches the cartoons available today. They get to them way before kindergarten.

" and handouts to already overworked teachers."

All I've ever heard is how overworked these teachers are, but they sure don't seem to complain very loudly when they get more of this kind of PC crap to teach, now do they? I can't recall teachers going on strike for getting too much of a workload of PETA-backed animal rights crap, gay parenting, or all that other garbage. I guess it's only when we try to lighten their workload by having them teach reading, math, science and history that they notice how large their classes are and how they need more money.

Your right Stonedog, Your right! But it is a different matter when the content is forced on the child with taxpayer dollars, we can always turn off the cartoon.

Schools need to focus on the three R's. Reading, 'Riting, and 'Rithmatic!

A couple of reasons why IMO; it is mostly they same Junk they themselves have been indoctrinated in and even if they don't believe in it they don't dare buck the system and besides it's easy for them to only deal with feelings instead of teaching. At least in some cases I believe this to be true, there are still many good teachers but their voices are fading.

I guess I just wonder when we are going to do something about it instead of continuing to fund the same government school programs over and over. What happened to vouchers, or privatization of public schools?

I feel the same way completely, even "feel" seditious at times. My oldest will going to K next year, all I can do and will do with a vengeance is to be active and let them know every time they cross the line, I understand that it will require extreme diligence and may put my Children in a less than favorable position with some teachers, but until the time of Restoration Revolution it's all I can do, but do it I will.

As for vouchers, no way it will happen, does anyone believe that the Neo-Marxists led by the ACLU will willing allow our Children a way out of their indoctrination camps?

This stuff must just be out on the west coast. I have never heard of it here in Virginia; and, my daughter is a teacher who is a Christian and a Republican. You can bet I would have heard about it if she had been told to teach this kind of nonsense because my daughter's voice is certainly not fading!

This makes me very happy to hear! It may very well be that we only hear of the most extreme cases. Never the less it never hurts to be aware of such things. Tell your daughter to keep up the good work, don't get discourage if she runs into trouble we need people like her teaching our children.

I will. She doesn't need me to coach her, though. She has very strong ideas of what is right and what is wrong. I am very proud of my baby. I am proud of all three of my girls. They are all Republicans! :)

My son went Vegan when he was about 10 years old (learned in school). We went along and gave him only veggies, so he ate leaves and grass while we had hamburgers, fried chicken, steaks and all other types of flesh.

He finally gave it up at a restaurant that was having all you can eat rib night.

The body and mind finally came together and realized I need meat. Don't get me wrong you can be a healthy Vegan but it requires quite an effort, that quite frankly fly's in face of nature.

Every time I hear about a PETA publicity stunt or something retarded they do (like this), I eat a hamburger. Or I'll grill/broil another chicken breast. I only go for factory farm raised, non-eco-terrorist approved meat.

Thank you PETA hippies, that burger was good. Damn fine cow, damn fine. *burp*

LOL! I usually don't even wait for a PETA stunt. When they planned a few years back to pass out the McBloody meal or whatever it was I was ticked off I never got one, what a collectors item that would have been!
