FReepers vs. Code Pink at Walter Reed (round V)(join us for the May 13 FReep)
DC Chapter ^ | May 12, 2005 | BillF

Posted on 05/12/2005 4:26:04 PM PDT by BillF

For the fifth time in just over 5 weeks, DC Chapter FReepers conducted a FReep of Code Pink's anti-war protest at the gate of Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where many of the most severely wounded troops from the war in Iraq and Afghanistan are taken for continued treatment and rehabilitation. The FReep of the leftists' obscene blood dance was on the Friday night, May 6.

The honor roll of those in attendance: kristinn, tgslTakoma, daughter of tgsl, trueblackman, hellinahandcart, sauropod, bmwcyle, and BillF.  For the second week in a row, I'm doing this report in place of the originally-designated writer (albeit a different one than last week), who got tied up with other matters.

Please join us on Friday, May 13, at 7:30 PM for the next FReep in this continuing series per details in the comment section below.

(Here is the after-action report on the previous round IV FReep of Code Pink's weekly Friday night attempts to exploit our war wounded for  propaganda. Code Pink (CP) pretends to support our troops, but Code Pink leader Medea Benjamin has bragged about the $650 K that her groups raised for "the other side" (her words) in Fallujah, Iraq. The first round FReep of CP a couple weeks back is described here and included CP sending three disruptors to stand next to us, one of them ranting about killing people and saying that he had a gun in his pocket, and then the three fleeing just ahead of the police.)

As usual, we set up diagonally across the intersection from the leftists. We

deployed a different MOAB (Mother of All Banners, see below photo) than the anti-CP one used earlier in this series.

This week was fairly quiet with no real interaction with the Pinkos. The closest was when a lone leftist, apparently not connected with CP, walked by. He made some disparaging remarks about the MOAB and words were exchanged, but he walked on.

I took photos of the leftists, but those photos are basically the same as last week. Look at last week's report, linked above, to see those photos.

MOAB, first used about a year ago. As seen from across the street.

Another view.

hellinahandcart, trueblackman (holding hell's great sign), and sauropod.

trueblackman, tgslTakoma, and sauropod.

bmwcyle and kristinn.

DAMN FINE MOAB!!! I'm stealing it for use down here in Louisville. Could you FReepmail the instructions and material list please? I've burned a really good CD with some great patriotic music that we use at our missions. If you want a copy just FReepmail me and we'll set something up. Keep up the great work!

FReeper Burrian has a great sign that he made:

"PEACE BIGOTS: GUILTY OF HATE CRIMES AGAINST THE AMERICAN SOLDIER".

That one ought to really drive the Code Pink-O's bonkers if you guys use it!

Just uploaded the photos for this again.

My web hosting company changed last year, followed by my hard drive failure, with great difficulty recovering data from backup. I’m finally putting photos back on my web site so the photos will be available. I’ll probably do sets of photos for 3 or 4 Walter Reed threads per day when I’m home, but may be traveling for a while so that it may take about 5 weeks to finish all Walter Reed threads.
