CAPITOL HILL The Senate Judiciary Committee has approved the last of four hotly disputed judicial nominees on a party line vote. The ten-to-eight vote sends acting appeals court Judge William Pryor's nomination to the Senate.
Democrats blocked his nomination in President Bush's last term. But Bush gave him a temporary seat on the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta with a recess appointment. They've vowed to filibuster Pryor and three other Bush nominees this time around, too.
Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist has threatened to disallow future filibusters and force a vote on Pryor and the others.
Democrats say Pryor's views on abortion and gay rights would prevent him from being an impartial judge. Republicans say his personal views have nothing to do with his respect for the law.
'Course not...but then, I don't recall any of them ever having been RIGHT either.
"The USA Patriot Act is going to rescind our right to privacy", there was no "Declaration of War" (long or short form) against either Afghanistan or Iraq and therefore both actions were "dirty little police actions", "Bush is going to raise your taxes", or even...I shudder at the probable incoming reaction to this one, " Bush is in cahoots with Fox to outsource all our jobs to Mexico, after all he IS fluent in Spanish"
...to name a few baseless accusations.
Ping a few others here!
Thank you so much!
Thanks!
There won't be a vote today. How fast do you think the Senate moves LoL?
Thanks for the ping!
When President Bush's term of office is FINISHED. /s
Time to renominate Manuel Estrada.
I want to see them do something with the Henry Saad nomination. The Dems haven't even questioned his competence or his willingness to uphold the law- it's just pure politics on the parts of my states senators.
Even so, this is a good start.

I would not say: 'female behavoir' has hurt society, but the 'feminization' of America by the 'femi-nazis' has done untold damage. Especially the feminization of men in our society. Just a little clarification on your point...LOL
Or even better the people who claim that Bush is going to turn us over to a one world government.

I'm sure we're in agreement. However, my point is, that the female war has been between the feminists and more "traditional" woman- and regrettably, in the recent past, the feminists have been winning..."
I am sure we would be in agreement on many things, but(monkey..aka Laura Ingraham show)...this may not be one of them. If your 'point' is that somehow the 'war' between traditional women and the more sinister radical feminists has been the difference between the good and bad in our society..I would have to say that it a misdomeanor in the grand jury of life. LOL

I believe the 'WAR' turns on far more intricate matters..and it is conservatism and traditional matters that will 'turn' the war..in our favor...not whether or not a person is female or black..or male and white. We have moved beyond that peghold.

"As for your comment about men, men are nothing more than POW 's in the above referenced war. The photo of Lindi dragging the guy around by a leash, is so very apt. :)
If tomorrow, woman decided that men should open doors, tip hats and stand when a lady entered the room as a pre-condition to "success" with women- there would be a immediate stampede to buy gray fedoras."
or a stampede on leashes...LOL??? Most women today are scorning the liberal male..we don't want a man on a leash..or one in a fedora..we do however like open doors and tipped hats and a cat call every now and then is flaterring...LOL
Thanks for the ping Meek.
Thanks smartA
You Bush-bot. It's already begun. When Dubya nominated Bolton I knew the fix was in. Another socialist UN capitulator. A real conservative would have pulled out of the UN. :p
