Senator Voinovich: Back Stabber
Blogs for Bush ^ | May 12, 2005 | Mark Noonan

Posted on 05/12/2005 8:52:20 AM PDT by Mark Noonan

I just watched Ohio Senator Voinovich speak on the John Bolton nomination as US ambassador to the United Nations. I have never been so outraged by the actions of a fellow Republican in my life. After spending a good deal of time sliming Mr. Bolton, Voinovich had the nerve to say that he likes John Bolton, but that he wants the Committee to send Mr. Bolton to the Senate without a recommendation.

This does not kill the nomination, but is an outrage that a few short months after we Republicans spent our money and effort to re-elect Senator Voinovich he should stab us in the back by joining the absurd and hate-filled Democratic effort to defeat John Bolton as US ambassador to the United Nations. There is still a lot of hope that we can get Mr. Bolton through the Committee and the full Senate; one has to believe that a majority of Senators are smart enough to see through this sick political grandstanding...but I've a long memory, and I shan't forget. In 2010, I'll remember who stood where in the past.

John Bolton will be representing the USA to the world. Is there any reason to defame this man in public so as to make him less effective? There is only one. Voinovich wants to be lauded by Libs on the D.C. cocktail party circuit. He then can tell the Pubs he did not vote against Bolton. This is the same man who held up the vote despite not having been at the hearings.

you can reach any Senator or Congressperson at US Capitol via toll free number...1-877-762-8762. Capitol operator will answer and just ask for office of the Senator you want to speak with.
I use the number a lot.

also, you can get websites of Senate/Congress etc via govspot.com. just click on legislative branch...

'..nothing will dissuade me from supporting the majority of Republicans...'

but, I do hope you are calling/emailing the RINO's AND the true Repub's to let them know when you are unhappy with the Rino behavior. They NEED to hear from us!

Voinovich gets NO VOTE from me! I voted for that guy, thinking he was a Republican with backbone.

Never again!

Trash him for THAT, OK! But it really is outrageous to say he's been "bought."

You're the second newbie I've seen to be outraged by something like that today, which is kind of odd in itself... almost like a seminar response. I'll see your outrage and raise the observation: I think his behavior and invective demonstrates that he's adding interest to what he owes somebody.

I never thought I'd be in the position of applauding Chuck Hagel for being a supportive Republican, and awarding someone other than Hagel today's Jerk Of The Day Award.

Is Voinovitch an Ohio slang term for "Jeffords"?

Expect him to win the next "Profiles in Courage" award.

"Nothing you can write will dissuade me from supporting the majority of conservative Republicans"

Ditto vet! but with a caveat. We NEED to elect strong, courageous and patriotic leaders to the GOP. No more spineless, gutless RINO's (Voinovich, McCain, Hagel etc..)

Conservative christians are usually good choices. and to hell with the ACLU if that offends you. You would bash Pres. George Washington himself if he were here.

I never liked the guy in the first place. One can only wonder what he would say about someone he doesn't claim to like.

I detest this jackass. It would be a service if you could let us know via FR when we can donate to the campaign of his opponent.

Voinovich is just trying to save face after his pathetic performance in the committee hearing a couple of weeks a good.

Bingo! Apparently HIS FACE is ever so much more important than the President's, or the rest of the GOP's. Selfish? Naaaaah....

As for saving his face, nothing can save this ugly puss...it already looks like it was run over by a truck.

Voinovich has said he is going to actively work against Bolton on the floor of the Senate.

Voinavich has always been a liberal demorat--He calls himself a Republican to get elected in Ohio which tends to vote Republican. He is a "pompous Ass" INMHO. I told his office 4 years ago I would never vote for him again. That's when he disagreed with the Bush tax cut. The staff person I talked to said they could win without my vote!
