FReeper help needed: SaveOurSeal.net video needs images of the Taliban blowing up Buddha statues

.

FReeper help needed:

To help promote FReeper AnnaZ's BRAND NEW SaveOurSeal.net video,
I need some ONLINE images of the Taliban blowing up those Buddha statues.

Some time VERY SOON, AnnaZ will be releasing a BRAND NEW short video,
which will open with VIDEO images of their destruction by Muslim fanatics.
This new video will be about the ACLU fanatics who recently forced Los Angeles County
to remove a tiny cross from their official County Seal, and how this ANTI-religious fervor
is much more DANGEROUS, and much more WIDESPREAD than some might think.

I would like to use something like THESE images, from www.buddhistnews.tv:

Among efforts to save the statues: New York's
Metropolitan Museum of Art offered to buy Afghan artifacts
if the Taliban would spare the Buddhas.
But the statues -- above, the larger of the two
-- were exploded in mid-March 2001.

Here is a description of the seal of Los Angeles County.

There are six small panels, three going up and down each side of the seal's central figure.

Top left: engineering instruments.

Middle left: a Spanish galleon.

Bottom left: a tuna representing the fishing industry.

Top right: oil derricks.

Middle right: the Hollywood Bowl, along with two stars representing the movie industry and one small cross.

Bottom right: a prize cow.

The central figure, the largest object on the seal: Pomona, the Roman goddess of gardens and fruit trees.

Anything disturb you enough to demand that the seal be redesigned?

Probably not. For the overwhelming majority of millions of citizens of Los Angeles County over the past 50 years, this seal has aroused no opposition. But a few months ago, someone with a magnifying glass at the American Civil Liberties Union discovered that the smallest item on the seal was a cross. And in its aim to expunge any trace of Christianity and God from American public life, the ACLU brought this fact to the attention of the five Los Angeles County supervisors.

The three liberals on the board were equally horrified, and voted within days to erase the cross and redesign the seal, which now depicts a building with no Christian symbol in place of the cross...

It has been suggested that the Masons in America are different from those in Europe. It's very difficult to be certain about the beliefs of the top people in secret societies, but I'd be inclined to agree that there may be something in this.

The Europeans Masons were, and apparently still are, an anti-Catholic, anti-Christian, conspiratorial organization. In America many of our leading patriots and religious figures, from George Washington on down, have been Masons. Their motives and behavior appear to differ from European Masons.

Knee-jerk anti-Catholicism has been a significant strain in America from the founding until recent times, when the Protestant establishment based on the mainline Churches ceased to be predominantly Christian and mostly turned liberal and secular. Although American Masons in the past may have been anti-Catholic like most other Americans, I don't think Masonry was in the forefront of American anti-Catholicism.

When only the initiated inner circle at the top of the organization knows what it's real purpose is, then the whole organization can change its actual purpose and start identifying with its public and not its covert purpose. I think (but there's no way to know for sure) that that may have been what happened to American Masonry.

Masons, schmasons!
Let's concentrate our fire (on THIS thread, anyway) on the REAL enemy: the God-less ACLU!

But they hate Catholics, so that evens out.

I had the parties for two of my kid's Catholic baptisms in two different Masonic temples.

They were very nice to me both times, even though they knew exactly what I was up to.

They do control the weather though.

Perhaps some others here could post some good "smashing Buddha" images in my absence. :o)

Sorry, I got distracted by earlier comments.

I don't think the politicians have a moral right to change something like a state seal, with a long and honorable history, without having some very good reason. Unlike banana republics and countries that experience constant revolutions, America is not in the habit of changing its flags, seals, or symbols on the whims of politicians.

Their reasons would seem to be that they are ashamed of California's oil wealth (which helped build the state in earlier days), ashamed of the traditional white female figure of American Liberty, and ashamed of California's traditional religion.

Probably you are right to focus on the cross, which was certainly a central symbol of California's history as well as the dominant religion of the state and country. Among other things, it's a kick in the face of California's Hispanic inhabitants and past history (an angle that ought to embarrass them).
