Bill Clinton Might Testify at Rosen Trial

Ex-president Bill Clinton might be called to testify at the trial of his wife's one-time finance director, David Rosen, Rosen's lawyer said Wednesday.

Judge A. Howard Matz announced on Tuesday that Sen. Hillary Clinton would not be called to testify in the case, despite allegations by two key witnesses that she was complicit in Rosen's crimes.

But Rosen's lawyer, Paul Mark Sandler, asked Judge Matz not to announce that Mr. Clinton wouldn't be called.

In a brief exchange Wednesday morning, Sandler asked the judge not to tell the jury that Bill Clinton would not testify, the New York Times said. "I do not know who my witnesses are," Sandler explained, aside from ruling out Mrs. Clinton.

Rosen is charged with three counts of filing false reports to the Federal Election Commission about an August 2000 Hollywood gala fundraiser in order to free up hard money for Mrs. Clinton's Senate campaign.

The producer of the event, Peter Paul, and its organizer, Aaron Tonken, both say they apprised Mrs. Clinton of the full costs involved well before Rosen filed the fraudulent records.

I wonder if the judge is going to announce that BJ is a known perjurer and therefore untrustworthy, since this is basically what he did with Peter Paul.

It seems really difficult to imagine that he'd be stupid enough to testify, if he had a choice. If he does testify, and Rosen goes to jail anyway, would not be good for Clinton.

If he's called, I don't see how he can avoid testifying.

Yeah, the judge should give a whole speech about how Bill Clinton is not only a confirmed perjurer but had to give up his law license and had been impeached by the US House of Representatives. Nothing Clinton says can be believed. Oh, wait, we're talking a liberal judge so he will fawn over the stain-master.....

The fact that the Perjurer in Chief appointed the judge to his lifetime job will probably have something to do with it too.

amazing.

nothing ever sticks with this bunch which leads me to believe that the next u.s. president will be a clinton.

the judge announced before the trial that it has nothing to do with hillary.

the news media are focused on delay to avoid attention on this.

fox doesn't do much with this story.

If Bill Clinton's testimony is harmful to Rosen, will Rosen's lawyer remind the court that Clinton is a known perjurer? If he does, that will tick off the Clinton faction of Democrat power brokers; if he doesn't, he'll be guilty of failure to effectively represent his client.

Or maybe she still has that J.Edgar Hoover insurance...
amazing what a few copies of F.B.I. files can do for ya...

As far as Bubba is concerned...
he'll wear out that "I don't recall" and "it depends on what the meaning of 'is' is?" LOL
he's got that testimony down cold!

Because the testimony of the crimes committed in this case will show that the next trial will be her's.

If Paul and Tinken testify to this information, and the defense objects on the basis of hearsay, Hillary could be forced to testify. If the prosecution then does not prodsecute Hillary, Rosen has a great equal protection claim on appeal.

Why would he not volunteer to perjure himself again? What's another 5 yrs. without a law license when you don't intend to practice law anyway?
