Suspect in car prowl in critical condition 10:25 AM PDT on Wednesday, May 11, 2005
From KING Staff and Wire Reports
GRAHAM, Wash. - A suspected car prowler was in critical condition Wednesday after he was caught trying to take a 1967 Camaro.
Pierce County sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said the owner fought with the suspect and a neighbor saw what was going on and hit him with a hockey stick.
"It was their car, they were protecting their property. We're just happy that the suspect didn't have a gun and nobody else got hurt," said Det. Ed Troyer.
"At this point our suspect is in critical condition. We'll have to find out later what caused that, but also if he does survive this he's going to end up being put into custody for his actions."
Deputies believe there may have been more people involved in the attempted car theft.

Isnt it divisive in the State of Grego..er Washington, to protect your own property and person from legally challenged individuals? They have rights too!

Not only did they catch the perp, they found an extra 300 uncounted absentee ballots in the Camaro.

I knew a guy with a 1956 T-Bird. If you even looked are the car, he became locked and loaded.
I wouldn't want to be the moron whoever tries to steal it.

That's what I thought when my '65 Mustang (named Ralphie) was stolen and never recovered a few years ago.

Car Prowler? Is ther some reason they don't want to refer to him as an alleged Car Thief? Maybe "thief" sounds so negative, while "prowler" sounds a bit more cuddly.

1) He didn't commit this crime in Texas
2) I was not the owner
In the Great State of Texas, one can use deadly force to stop someone from ripping off their precious 67' Camaro

I saw an aerial shot of the car on the news. It looked rather nice except some nitwit (imho)installed a sunroof.

Great...now the libs are going to want me to register my hockey sticks.
I have a composite one too. I bet that's going to be classified as an "assault hockey stick"

The three most fraudlent things a Dem has done since 2001 are
1.Washington's stolen election. Never was there a more blatant and transparent theft than Gregoire's. The ensuing Democrat and media cover-up made Lenin smile in his Mausoleum.
2.Sandy Berger's felony theft of of classified material. At Bill Clintons behest, the burglar stole documents that would have made Bill look bad at the 911 commission. A lesser man or woman would have pled to 5 years.
3.The selling of John Kerry as a viable candidate for president. This fraud rivals that of Gregoire's.

In Houston, the park Police saw a man trying to open the window of a sports car.
The park Policeman (?) started to help the man get the window open. The car owner walked up wanting to know why they were trying to steal his car.
The perp was a known felon car thief and was put back in jail. The Policeman was fired.
