It is just another book. We as a country are not allowed to get upset when a U.S. flag is burned and I assume if a Bible were degregated.
That said I think using that tactic to loosen up prisoners is okay. It is a mind job. I think we should be feeding them ham sandwiches to boot. We are at war.
After I read one I deface every copy I can find.
I don't think there's any evidence that the Germans worshipped Hitler in the way you would worship a god. Having a cult of personality is not akin to worship.
Received a call from my son this morning from J'bad and he absolutely insists no US soldiers involved in any of this unlike reported by Fox and others that American soldiers are shooting up the crowd. Soldiers have not left the PRT.
Oh, I TOTALLY AGREE...and if we could edit posts here, I'd add that to mine. Totally agree...
I agree wholeheartedly! Newsweek shouldn't have done it.

This is total propaganda fluff.
Yet the MSM are COMPLETE AND TOTAL SUCKERS for this.
CNN, the alphabets, MSNBC, and even Fox Reporters and Reporterettes expose their light weight brain power by reporting this seriously.
In that part of the world the Christian Bible is ILLEGAL and WILL be destroyed upon confiscation.
I think we should start rioting every time a Muslim kills a Christian; take Sudan for example.
I would be just as mad at Newsweek as I am. They have no business being the propaganda arm of our enemies-- regardless of our enemies' religious affiliation.
The Koran represents a political ideology as much as it does a religion.
Slaves siezed in jihad must be taken to an "Islamic territory" to be divided up. The invasion into Spain was to establish a Western capital for Islam.
The Christian Bible makes no distinction of borders. Islam does.
Sorry excuse for a people!
The left had no problems with psy-op pressure techniques being used in Waco.
These terrorists (who quickly re-up with the movement when they are released) certainly deserve no better treatment than we gave our own citizens on their own property.
I wonder what Saudi Arabia does with any bibles they find in their country.
I know you meant it. Just finishing the thought for you. ;)
If ONE prisoner was so degraded that he gave information that saved ONE U.S. Soldier's life, then I wouldn't call it "needless". The goal was to coax information from these "people". Defiling a stack of paper pulp seems fairly reasonable to me...even in front of those paragons of religious tolerance called Muslims.
The 'official' statements from our government is that this is 'not a religious war'. They know very well that it is. Diplomacy- and an amount of naivete,IMO, -prevents that from being said.
The soldiers in the field, the ones dealing with this face to face, know damn well that is IS a 'holy' war - and they are fighting against the UNholy ones. You don't prosecute them for it- you praise and encourage them.
To win- you use the best weapons you have, physical and psychological. They want to use the Koran to dominate the world-use the Koran to defeat them. Immerse it in urine. Line a pig pen with it. Paper the floor with it and leave not a place to walk that isn't on Mohammeds word.
Why should we respect their document of death and destruction when it proposes all other religions be eradicated?
If the idea is which side is going to dominate the world- and make no mistake, it is- then it has to start face-to-face, one on one. They will tell us how to act, or we will tell them. Islam is that black and white. To go on thinking compromise and reason are possible( with entire Muslim countries, or individual Muslims) is suicidal.
