IMHO I don't think it would be much of a fight. I believe if you cut off the head of that "dragon", the body would not carry on the fight very long.
Take out the communist leadership, and I truly believe the other almost 1 billion Chinese long for freedom enough that the war would end rather quickly.
I don't know alot about the Chinese, but I assume theirs is not a volunteer army.

When fighting with totalitarian countries, enemy troops collapse as soon as the winds change. Shock and awe happens when lightning speed meets with limited resistance. That said, I don't believe the Chinese want war. If Iran pulls them it, it'll be a disaster - and millions and millions of Chinese will starve to death. But it seems the Chinese are too smart to be played for fools -- and they'll choose to compete in the economic arena. On that field, they can win. And if they do, we need to be good sports, congratulate them, and schedule another round.

Excellent analysis, and I agree 100%. China would quickly become our most powerful ally, especially against Islam.
The challenge is for us to get to that level without the war.
