After urging the spread of democracy in Latvia, The Netherlands, Russia and Georgia, President (and Laura) Bush returned to the White House. The president will resume work with Congress on Social Security and judicial nominees, as well as seeking help from China on getting North Korea back to negotiations on its nuclear weapons program.
Grenade thrown at our president in Georgia.
Text of Bush's speech in Georgia.

QUOTE: [in Georgia] As you build freedom in this country, you must know that the seeds of liberty you are planting in Georgian soil are flowering across the globe. I have come here to thank you for your courage. The American people value your friendship, and admire your determination. On behalf of all Americans, thank you, God bless you.
The [Georgian] Rose Revolution was a powerful moment in modern history. It not only inspired the people of Georgia, it inspired others around the world that want to live in a free society. I think people will look back at this moment in history and ... marvel at the courage of people who have said, I want generations to grow up in a hopeful world.
Welcome home

Oh, very, very cool, Gretchen. Thanks for putting that photo of Barney greeting George and Laura first tonight. I'm so relieved they are home safe and sound. Did you hear about the grenade that was tossed 100 feet from GWB in Georgia. The pin was pulled, but the Georgian security forces grabbed it before it could go off.
