Opposition pass vote in bid to topple government

OTTAWA - Opposition MPs passed a motion Tuesday night that they claim should topple the government but the Liberals have dismissed the vote as nothing more than a procedural matter.
The motion passed by 153 votes to 150.
Conservative and Bloc Québécois MPs voted for the motion calling on the public accounts committee "to recommend that the government resign."
The NDP and two Independents voted with the Liberals against the motion.
Liberals have rejected claims by the opposition that this was a confidence vote, saying it is just a set of instructions to a committee, and that the outcome won't affect the government.
Two cabinet ministers, Justice Minister Irwin Cotler and Natural Resources Minister John Efford, were not there for the vote.
Despite the Liberal refusal to treat it as a matter of confidence, the Conservatives have said they'll come to work as usual and look for other opportunities to force an election.
Earlier Tuesday, Liberal House leader Tony Valeri announced that the opposition parties will have three days at the end of May during which they can introduce formal non-confidence motions.
On those days, the opposition controls the parliamentary agenda.
"We're not afraid to be held accountable," Valeri said at a news conference. "There will be legitimate confidence votes."
The Liberals have already dismissed a similar motion involving the finance committee and scheduled to be voted on next week as a procedural matter and not a matter of confidence.

Imagine if the Democrats most vicious attack dog lost faith...

If it were the GOP committing the crime, as DG said they would be gone. But if it were the Dems accepting, even soliciting, money from ChiComs and Indonesian corporate interests then selling out American security and business, well that's a different story. The Left is frightening to behold, whether Communist, Fascist, "progressive" or "liberal" it is a philosophy of tyranny.
But you don't understand. Canada is a liberal country that needs more socialists, PC policies. It's irrelevant how those policies get in place as long as the liberal agenda is advanced. the people of Canada aren't stupid. They know that what the Liberals are doing is for the ultimate good of the country and the conservatives will destroy their progressive achievements. Canadians will not stand for this. They don't care about what the party does to get it's goals accomplished. It's for the greater good. The liberals will win another minoirty government and continue to champion equality for all and make the oppressive capitalists pay for the harm they have inflicted upon minorities and the environment.

My point is that most people in Ontario support the Liberal party as the useful idiots they are. They actually see the Liberals as victims of a COnservative conspiracy and fully support the Liberal decision to ignore the Constitution. THey think it's the right thing to do. Canadians are corrupt. And I'm speaking as one who has escaped the Peoples Republic of Bananada.
The Liberals are spinning this as not an actual non-confidence vote, so they're not calling another election. Yet.
The one problem with your argument is that there is no such thing as a Canadian anymore.
I wouldn't go that far. But for the record, I get your meaning.
Somehow the media and academia has twisted Nazi Germany into a rightwing movement, but that is a demonstrable lie. But China, the Soviet Union, Pol Pot's Cambodia, you name it, it's leftists who feel no guilt in doing whatever it takes.
Marxists don't believe in lawnever have, never will. They believe in Marxism, achieved by any means necessary, including violence. This doesn't surprise me at all. Libs in the US have been playing the "redefine the English language" game ever since Der Schliegmeister tried to redefine "is." Now "no" and "confidence" mean something else. Anything to retain power.
(Denny Crane: "Sometimes you can only look for answers from God and failing that... and Fox News".)
Wih their control of the media ...
They're pulling another Dasshole/Hillary/deny/deny/deny the reality bit eh?
Oh the shame of it all.
And to make it worse here we have ontario premier
dalton mcguinty who struck a deal with paul martin
for a measly 5 billion when in fact Ontario pays out
far more to support the country than any other province.
Ontario has a 130 billion buck debt and Alberta has Zero.
Ontario is the powerhouse province of Canada and yet
it bends over for Quebec and the feds and there are still
enough idiots in the province to keep voting in the liberals. I am sure this is due to the ever increasing
minority population in quebec coupled with the socialists
in Toronto who think the world revolves around them and
have no idea what the gov't is doing.

Interesting quote from Trudeau's son Justin (Trudeau was of course a Liberal): "I'd like to see the Conservatives come back to being a strong, credible, national force." However, this doesn't really mean much because Justin's a nobody.
In case you care, here's the latest.
