Dick Morris says "significant chance" Rosen will flip on Hillary
Hannity radio | 5-10-05 | dfu

Dick Morris just did an excellent job explaining the David Rosen/Hillary fundraising felony problems. He had also done a good job this morning with Tony Snow.

What was behind the lies to the FEC? Had they told the truth, it would have cost about $800,000 in hard money. Hillary couldn't afford that. Because of her soft money agreement with Rick Lazio, she desperately needed that hard money for the final weeks of the campaign.

Morris believes that because of the Ray Reggie wire and other witnesses, Rosen is probably now realizing he is in great legal jeopardy. He believes there is a "significant chance" that Rosen will flip on Hillary and tell the Feds about her involvement.

Morris will be on Hannity and Colmes later this evening.

Imagine DeLays fundraiser doing this with campaign funds - They would be screaming for him to be arrested. Hillary is getting a pass as if it was not HER but only someone who WORKED FOR her...

Could Delay's outing being done just before Hillary's problems have been planned in advance? They are such masters at PR and dirty tricks, I would be looking at everything going on before and after the truth comes out.

The RATS just found out in January about the Rosen problem when his indictment was unsealed. They have been working on getting rid of DeLay for some time.

This excerpt from an article in the NY Sun (5/9/05) is what gave me the idea that there is/was a common defense:

In an interview, an attorney for the Clintons, David Kendall, said he was confused by Mr. Rosen's statement. He said lawyers for the various defendants have made no effort to hide their coordination and have at times filed joint briefs.

"It's no secret that counsel for Mr. Rosen, the Clinton for Senate Committee, and the Clintons have been cooperating in the defense of a meritless civil suit brought by Peter Paul," Mr. Kendall said.

Exactly why we need turnover in employees we've sent to Washington.

Interestingly, Bush 1 got rid of many of Reagans people but GW left Bubbas. Does that not tell one something?

In hindsight, Ken Starr=Paul Volcker.

Some of us saw thru Starr immediately. The day they selected him the Klintoons applauded. Wonder why. Then one of their crimes they got the so-called independent x senator from Missouri -John Danforth - to head the investigation. Just happened that he & Bubba were governors at the same time & went hunting & fishing together each year. And NOBODY complained. I believe Starr also had Chi-com client that was part of the investigation.

FBI files.

Expression of high-level annoyance at unthinking stupidity presented as sophistication. Quick math leading to conclusion that Rosen would have been in college when FBI files acquired. Disbelief that Rosen would have been of any interest at the time. Wonderment that "FBI files" would represent a threat to man already facing felony indictment with FBI agents testifying against him. Inability to decide whether to laugh or cry at such doltishness.

The Clintons have weathered tougher waters than this.

I say she comes through barely scratched.

Better it come now, vs. 2007.

Getting one such scandal behind her can innoculate against others.

I agree. The naysaying on these threads is ridiculous. I know "no one has ever flipped on the Clintons" and " nothing ever sticks to her" but they don't hold the power now like they did during the 90s.

Clinton is not the president now. He can't audit anyone via the IRS. They can't order the Justice Department to do anything.

Can we all just try to work together to make sure this info is actually covered in the MSM and make sure she nevers gets into the White House again?

Thanks.

Jury questioned in trial of Hillary Clinton aide
Tue May 10, 2005 06:49 PM ET

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Prospective jurors in the federal trial of a former finance director for Sen. Hillary Clinton were questioned about their politics and their views of the New York Democrat as jury selection began on Tuesday.

Clinton has not been charged in the case and is not expected to testify, but the trial of her former fund-raiser, David Rosen, has been seized on by her political enemies who hope it could complicate her re-election bid and a possible run for the presidency in 2008.

After a jury is selected, opening arguments were scheduled to begin on Wednesday.

Some of the questions for jurors were bluntly political.

Among those were "What is your opinion of the Republican party as a whole?," "What is your opinion of the Democratic party as a whole?" and "Do you have such strong feelings one way or another about Senator Hillary Clinton that would make it difficult for you to impartially consider this case?"

The charges against Rosen stem from an August 2000, "Hollywood Gala" that cost more than $1.2 million, most of which was paid for with "in-kind" contributions from a "wealthy individual," according to the grand jury indictment.

Rosen told the Federal Election Commission the "in kind" contributions totaled only $400,000, and prepared a false invoice showing that the concert portion of the gala cost only $200,000, according to the indictment.

The major contributor to the fund-raiser, who was not named in the grand jury indictment, has identified himself as Peter Paul, the founder of a firm called Stan Lee Media.

Paul said he paid the entire bill for the event, held at the Brentwood, California, home of radio magnate Ken Roberts. but was surprised when his contribution was listed as just $2000.

Paul, who was extradited from Brazil in 2003 and has pleaded guilty to unrelated securities fraud charges.

Judge A. Howard Matz rebuffed a defense request to introduce details of Paul's prior convictions in the 1970s and 1980s in their opening arguments.

Getting to your post late....you make good sense, and the message is that the Democratic party is divided. At this time I hav eno other thoughts but to help further divide the Democratic party. We can do that. We need to focus.
