Poland suffered for centuries under czarist and Soviet oppression, and many ordinary Poles regard the country as a historic enemy. ===

My people experienced the domination of both nations and both were horrible but Russia took away their means of livelihood. Neither has been trustworthy and if the Poles decide to trust either they had better have their heads examined.
