Compared to Perry, Kinky is starting to look ok. That is so sad on so many levels.

Sen Fraser voted for it. His analyst said the budget had not increased after adjusting for inflation. Go figure.

Just talked to a staffer. Told her to let the Governor know that if he signs it, I, my wife, and everyone that I can talk into it will vote for whoever his opposition is, be it republican, libertarian, or even demoRAT.

Semper Fi

If you want to go after the RINO who pushed this..... David Dewhurst.

Perry has been a good, he is even trying to get property tax releif passed. We need property tax relief very badly here in Texas, property tazes are killing Texas home owners. Dewhurst on the other hand has been terrible on taxes and property tax relief. Dewhurst has got to go.

My "direct comments" were delivered to the very highest low-level staffer I could locate in each office today.... I have made it clear that Zell Miller and I have something in common. I knew my analogy had made a huge impact when the yougster said, who? Anyway, we didn't leave our party; our party has left us!

This message was sent to: the Gubner, Lt. Gubner, and my state senator, Kyle Janek, and state rep Bill Callegari.

I mean it too....I will work to defeat them. I have time, I am retired....and not opposed to wearing a sandwich sign at the corner of Fry Rd and I-10 for as long as it takes....

Add Senator Mike Jackson to the list of RINOS. He voted for the tax increases early this morning.

Thanks for posting this. I contacted my State Senator yesterday and a fat lot of good it did with the dang thing now being passed.

I just contacted the Governor and asked him to veto it, and I recontacted my Senator to let him know how INCENSED I am to have been misled into thinking that he is actually a Republican since he just helped pass a bill that, however you look at it, increases State taxes by STEALTH, wrongly and unnecessarily expands "services" provided by the (nanny) State, expands the bureaucracy of the State, and expands the intrusion of the State into the lives of We the People.

I am WAY more pissed about this than if Democrats had done it, because at least we already know that they lie at will to promote unAmerican government. When the Republicans put in place a deceitful law completely at odds with the mandate under which they were elected, it is nothing less than a stab in the back by people you thought were friendly.

I will be actively campaigning against my Republican State Senator at any future election for any office because of this betrayal.

Thanks for the earlier ping Meek. My husband is so disgusted with Perry that he said he won't vote for him again, just not vote.

Perry's poll ratings are way down and his 'super highway' is causing a lot of discontent. I don't like Hutchison but would never vote for a dem so hope Perry straightens up!!

I thought about running for State Senator, and following my service, would have had a strong shot at being elected if I was the same age or younger.

After several years as Councilmember and then as a popular Mayor, I was burned out, and had too many miles on me.

Following this, the Senators should gut the TEA, TNRCC, and several other agencies that drain taxpayer money as in protected by monstrous, well dug in lobbyists. JUST GUT THEM.

Perry has been a good low profile Governor, and Kay Bailey will be a first class rino if she beats him.

No, you're not the only one.

ALL politicians remind me of wild-eyed alcholics in a room full of booze! And the sheeple just keep paying for more 6 packs and jugs....

To: MeekOneGOP; All
Thank you for getting out the pings! Very good letters sent to Gov. Perry. Here's mine:

Honorable Governor Rick Perry,

I am writing to tell you how extremely displeased I am with our State Legislature and the passage of the Tax Reform Bill, also known as HB 3. I thought Republicans stood for lower taxes and greater economic freedom for the citizens of Texas but apparently I am gravely mistaken. Passage of this bill it is an absolute slap in the face to all the men and women that supported candidates who campaigned on a platform which included fighting for jobs and promoting Texas' economy. The new tax structure does the exact opposite--it will cost jobs and destroy our economy. I strongly urge you to veto this bill when it reaches your desk.

The last thing I want to see is the return of Democrats to the governor's mansion or gaining seats in the Legislature, but the Republican's certainly are not helping themselves maintain power by turning on their base. We will not forget on election day.

Sincerely,

Rick Perry has turned out to be less than a great governor.

Damn the state Payroll Tax.

Tax and spend, when does it stop.
