Terri Schiavo Autopsy Results Two to Three Weeks Away

Clearwater, FL (LifeNews.com) -- The autopsy results on Terri Schiavo are two to three weeks away, according to the local medical examiner charged with the task of determining her cause of death. The disabled woman died after a painful 13-day starvation and dehydration death that generated worldwide controversy. Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner Jon Thogmartin has been working on Terri's autopsy for the last month and he says he needs two to three more weeks to complete it.

Until then, he won't talk about the work in progress.

He will say, however, that he has received hundreds of letters and emails related to Terri.

"I get e-mails that say, 'Please be thorough, please be thorough, please be thorough,' he told the St. Petersburg Times newspaper. "Then in the next paragraph, they say, 'Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up, why aren't you done yet?'"

Many of the letters hope Thogmartin will uncover proof that her estranged husband Michael physically abused Terri, causing her 1990 collapse. Others want him to prove Michael's contention she was in a PVS state.

"They are of no consequence to me," he told the Times about the letters.

Thogmartin admitted the work is difficult and that the case was not routine.

"This is a case that as far as the pathology goes is fairly routine," he said. "But there is all this ancillary stuff and the problem is the time delay. You have a 15-year delay between the incident (when Schiavo collapsed and her brain was deprived of oxygen) and the time of death."

He says the work related to her has consumed his time and taken over his office as boxes of slides and paperwork appear frequently.

In his stacks of papers is a request from Terri's family to allow their own pathologists to observe the autopsy. Thogmartin refused the request.

"It is routine in cases of criminal importance to not allow any biased pathology advocates in the morgue," he said. "I'm the independent pathologist."

Thogmartin told the Times he's not worried about the backlash -- regardless of the conclusions he reaches.

"Basically it means that as long as you're being honest, you can't be wrong. You have to call it as you see it and let the fallout come," he said.

That is why it's difficult and I don't know if we really find out anything about the autopsy.

Why didn't Michael Sciavo allow doctors to fully examine Terri why she was alive????

The delay in the final autopsy report isn't a surprise. Forensic pathologist
Michael Badin said it takes 6 weeks of soaking in formaldehyde for a brain to
'stiffen' enough for it to be cross-sectioned and examined microscopically.
So the report couldn't possibly come out before mid-May.

Dr. Badin also said that Thogmartin SHOULD have allowed independent pathologist
Cyril Wecht to oversee the autopsy as he was requested.

This final autopsy report is GUARANTEED to be a whitewash. Pinellas County is
the "Geriatric Murder Capitol of the World", and McCabe, and the county commission,
and probate judge(s) are all part of the theft-racketeers of these people's estates.

Forced Guardianship: A Horror Story

Medical Examiner Thogmartin was hired after his predecessor, Ms. Woods, was smeared
by McCabe and the county commissioners over her Scientology/Lisa McPherson murder
findings.

McCabe then led the nomination and hiring committees, chose Thogmartin (who had been
employed by Palm Beach County since graduation),
offered him the M.E. position, and he accepted it, all before his name (and only his name)
was sent to Jeb Bush for approval. Thogmartin then reversed Woods findings against
the Scientologists, justifying the actions McCabe and the commissioners had earlier
taken in dropping charges in McPherson's death and blaming Ms. Woods.

Thogmartin is HIGHLY unlikely to issue any controversial report that disagrees
with the County's prior 'finding' of the Schiavo 'facts'.

You will hear the Terri-haters say hundreds of times in the coming weeks after
the whitewash comes out, that Thogmartin was appointed by Jeb Bush, conveniently
forgetting the rest of the story.

An autopsy will demonstrate nothing useful about her mental capability. Only a PET scan would have been useful for PVS - even if her skull is 3/4 empty the remainder may have been functioning just fine for adequate cognitive ability.

I am, however, interested in seeing what this says about the "broken bones" reports.

I don't think they're going to examine her broken bones. I don't expect anything to come out of this autopsy that doesn't look good for her murderers. If the medical examiner had intended to be open and honest, he wouldn't have refused an independent observation, which is just common courtesy and common practice.

Strange use of the word "delay". Is he saying Terri's death was delayed for 15 years? Heck, Terri could have lived much much longer. She was disabled and healthy.
