Ann Coulter's Book "Treason" does a good job in exposing Alger Hiss for the Soviet Spy he was. How in hell he was allowed to penetrate as far as he did is mind boggling.

Condi couldn't be an Al Qaeda spy because some disgruntled Clinton holdover (Richard Clark? Joe Wilson?) wrote a book saying she had never heard of it.

Heck, just look at Henry Wallace, FDR's own VP from 1941-45 (among other high positions in FDR and Truman's administrations before and after). As you probably already know, in '48 Wallace was the Progressive Party candidate for President, pushing ideas that were not only pretty much identical to the Communists', but actually received the endorsement of the Communist Party, which he gladly and publicly accepted. According to this, Wallace's Progressive Party was made up of "dissident Democrats, most of whom had been prominent in developing the New Deal program."

Having such a full-blooded Communist as VP wasn't exactly an accident on FDR's part. FDR was so thrilled with Wallace's ideas that Wallace once wrote in his diary that FDR "had assured him that he was a few years ahead of his time, but that his vision for America would "inevitably come."" (Treason, 189)

I am not entirely certain that W would have made this bold pronouncement if Coulter had not done what her book did with regard to Hiss.

Some books bring in an atmosphere of enablement particularly when they go to the top as hers have.
