So what is a totalization agreement? These are bilateral agreements between the U.S. Social Security Administration and its counterpart in foreign countries to coordinate their Social Security programs. Presently the U.S. has 20 such agreements, mostly with European nations. This overall program has been in place since the Carter Administration. However, this is the first totalization agreement between the United States and a nation responsible for nearly 70 percent of the illegal immigration into the United States.

And we wondered why the push was on to 'fix' Social Security? Simple, because W just broke it, big time.
There isn't a day that goes by without a news article that lowers my hopes for this administration. I used to place this president above Reagan. Now he's nearing Clinton territory for respect.
I agree. From where I stand it looks as if Bush cares more for Iraq's borders and it's peoples' financial situation than he does for his fellow Americans. How terribly, terribly sad.
Bttt!
Bush has proven he cares nothing about the welfare of the USA or it's people. He is a globalist and his goal is the elimination of the USA as an independent nation.
Ah, but it goes much deeper than this.
The Totalization agreement not only allows Mexican illegal aliens to apply for and receive US SS benefits at home, but also allows him to apply for and receive benefits for his wife and children, even if they've never stepped foot in the US.
You and I have to work 40 quarters (10 years) before we become eligible for benefits.
Under the terms of the Totalization agreement, a Mexican illegal alien is eligible after only 6 quarters (1-1/2 years).
And more recently, Bush has been pushing for increased benefits for low-income wage earners and lower benefits for high wage earners.
And just which group would a typical Mexican illegal alien fall? If you said 'low wage earner', then go to the head of the class.
Which group of 'high wage earners' would be most affected by Bush's SS proposal? If you said, 'American citizens', then you've just earned extra credit.
There you have it. Bush cares more about providing for Mexican illegal aliens than he does for Amercian citizens.

I realized then what this administration was all about.
I had absolutely no faith in Bush Jr. after witnessing the abysmal, dismal performance of his father and his rolling over to let the Clinton's capture the WH.....must be a renegade gene in the Bush family tree that just forces them to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
I've always thought he was slicker than Slick. After all, he got all of those so-called conservatives to vote the highest increases in gov spending since LBJ. Not bad for a compassionate conservative.

I am in favor of rolling back Globalization and returning us to a strict, conservative limited Republican form of government, free of entangling alliances and unfettered by any Global commitments at any level. No custom, law or precedent, or foreign entity, should be recognized above or higher than the U.S. Constitution. All forms of government above, or outside of, the U.S. Constitution should be declared null and void and all agreements, arrangements and alliances vacated by the Judiciary and enforced by Congressional decree (ideally)..
U.S. National Sovereignty should never be compromised at any level and the Republic must stand only and exclusively for the interests of U.S. Citizens, and not those of any other country, government or non-governmental organization (NGO).
The entire U.S. National financial infrastructure and all other institutions should be sealed off from the emerging global order, as the U.S. hopefully takes its formal stand against Globalism (again, it is up to Congress to Act here).
We must reject Globalism, multilateralism and all forms of Socialism and return to a strong, well-grounded Constitutionally-inspired, Republican form of limited Government and stand by our hard-won National Independence to the very bitter end. The U.S. should not be the eternal wellspring of dole and giveaways for the Second and Third worlds.
Vote accordingly people, and run for office, where appropriate and most effective.
Will the Republic stand? Will we remain Sovereign?
If true then we are importing a great deal of trouble, the fighting will be on our side of the border too. Someone in DC should be thinking about what's best for the USA and not just what's best for Mexico. If a revolution is comming, allowing 20 million illegals into the usa is not going to prevent it, just make the entire mess worse and involve usa too.
Well stated. I agree.
And this Administration was labeled "Conservative"?
Thanks bud.
A rising tide lifts all boats...sort of. Well, except for American citizens' rowboats. Every three months or so, we're expected to get busy and invent something everyone else in the world can manufacture and sell back to us at double/triple the manufacturing cost. Social security will be a welfare program. The Dems are right about that, and it's shameful.
Protect our borders and coastlines from all foreign invaders!
