ATLANTA -- Court records reportedly show that runaway bride Jennifer Wilbanks served jail time for shoplifting several years ago.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting Wilbanks faced a felony charge back in 1996 for allegedly shoplifting $1,700 worth of merchandise from a mall. Records show the prosecutor in that case dropped the charge after Wilbanks completed a program of community service and restitution. That prosecutor is now serving as Wilbanks' attorney.
In a separate case, court records show Wilbanks served two weekends in jail after pleading guilty to another shoplifting charge. A judge sentenced her to probation, a $400 fine, and community service.
The 32-year-old woman touched off an extensive search last month when she vanished from her Georgia home days before her wedding.
The local district attorney is deciding whether to charge her with making false statements.

This woman also appears to be hoplelessly 'truth-challenged'. . .or is it variations being played out of 'OCD' (obsessive-compulsive disease); or is she just a total sociopath. . . . Her lawyer will determine no doubt. . .
Jennifer's Father responded to Greta Susteren, that when he answered the phone he recongnized her right away by her crying. . .'he had been there before' he offered. . .hearing her cry and then that voice. . .'Daddy, I want to come home'.
Thought her Father's comments, particularly curious. . .wondered just what were the circumstances that precipitated those other calls.
Am guessing now, those phone calls came from the jailhouse; after Jennifer was arrested - both times.
Or. . .are they open a little to much. . .too wide; as if her eyes are making a huge effort to communicate an 'openess' that is in fact. . .not there at all.
Or is she 'wide-eyed' because over the years; the truth of Jennifer, has wanted to jump out. Whatever; Jennifer's eyes seem to have their own 'body-talk'.
Meanwhile, is her fiance' beginning to get a new read on Jennifer. . .I hope so.
