If this fool were to actually win, George Soros would be the de-facto leader of the US. McCain is nothing but a brainless little sock-puppet who takes his instructions from the great master himself.
I'm from Phoenix. We whupped Kerry's butt in the last election--unfortunately electing a Democrat governor and attorney general in the process.
So what does McCain do? He turns around and creates an alliance with Teddy Kennedy, captain of the Chappaquiddick swim team, to write guest worker legislation. Good, now we're not only possibly going to allow terrorists to cross the borders, we may get 'em a job a pay them.
That's the kind of thing our state and nation gets from John McCain.
Oh, by the way, McCain also invited Tom Daschle out to Arizona before the election, at a time when most people here had little or no respect for ole Tommy D. When asked about it, McCain thumbed his nose at everybody and basically told them to stick it in your ear.
What would it be like if it was McCain vs Lieberman in 2008?
There are lots of liberal Republicans besides McCain - Pataki, Romney, Taft.
Perhaps he should run for El Presidente de Mexico. The way things are going, Arizona might well be a Mexican provincia by 2008.
God help us! He's as big of a liberal as Ted Kennedy is.

I'm sure if you review the voting records of these two Senators, you'll learn that while Kerry is decidedly always VERY liberal, McCain is most often conservative.
How those two facts make them equal escapes me.
I think you are right. He brings the "swing" voters out in droves. His Vietnam-era service is a definite plus to any ticket. Not conservative enough for me, but probably a good bet to hold the White House for us in 2008.

The very thought of McCain as President scares the .... out of me.
If it was a contest between him and Lieberman, and there wasn't a VIABLE third party candidate, I'd go with Lieberman, even if he did sell his soul to run with Gore. It would be the first time in my life I voted for a Dem.
Simply put, he will never make it.
McCain would go berserk upon losing again.
The question posed isn't whethero r not you (or anyone) doesn't have a disagreement with McCain on any given issue. The question is, if it was McCain vs Hilly, ACU 80 vs ACU 9, who would get your vote.
Not voting for a person who is in your camp 80% of the time in a close race helps the person who is in your camp 9% of the time win.
If you can't see that in that case, McCain gets the vote as the preferable (if not perfect) candidate between the two, then you are oficially colored myopic. ;-)
