Schiavos Don't Know Where Terri's Ashes Are (Schindlers Don't Know Where Terri's Ashes Are)

MIAMI - The family of a severely brain-damaged woman who died after her feeding tube was removed in March said Friday they still have not been told where her remains will be laid to rest.

Terri Schiavo's parents and siblings, who waged a lengthy court battle over her end-of-life wishes, said on Fox's "Hannity & Colmes" show that her husband is keeping her remains from them.

"They were supposed to tell us, and we still have not heard from ... Michael Schiavo where Terri's been laid," said Terri Schiavo's brother, Bobby Schindler. "Our family expected this. Michael has disobeyed court orders throughout the ordeal and continues to do so today."

Michael Schiavo is under court order to notify the Schindlers of his plans for a memorial service. He has had his wife cremated and has said her ashes would be buried at a family plot in Pennsylvania.

George Felos, Michael Schiavo's attorney, did not immediately return a call Friday night seeking comment.

Terri Schiavo, 41, died March 31 in a Pinellas Park hospice, 13 days after her feeding tube was removed by court order. She suffered brain damage in 1990 after a chemical imbalance caused her heart to stop.

She left no written instructions in the event she became disabled, and her husband said she never would have wanted to be kept alive in what court-appointed doctors called a persistent vegetative state with no hope of recovery.

The Schindlers, however, doubted she had any such end-of-life wishes. They maintained she would benefit from rehabilitation, despite most doctors saying her condition was irreversible

Those who lay claim to the 'middleground' are generally those without the courage to choose sides: The side of the right, or the side of the wrong.

Kinda like certain Senators who are giving us all so much trouble...thwarting the will of the majority.

Being the most vocal does not make you the majority.

Your perception of the middleground is skewed. While you claim them courage-less, they are the majority. It is my wish that we capture the middleground. If we can do that we can affect 'the senators who are giving us so much trouble'. Sometimes I feel as if the right-fringe would be happier losing than mediating with the middleground.

I don't agree that they were all too emotionally involved to see the difference.

Terri's nurses and priests like Father Pavone were too emotionally involved to discern the difference?

It is interesting too me that those who thought Terri was NOT in PVS were "too emotionally" involved, but those who thought Terri was in PVS resorted to rational, logical reasoning.

The truth is ultimately what matters, not what side the perceived fringe elements took.

I don't agree that they were all too emotionally involved to see the difference.

Then we don't agree.

Terri's nurses and priests like Father Pavone were too emotionally involved to discern the difference?

Yes, absolutely.

It is interesting too me that those who thought Terri was NOT in PVS were "too emotionally" involved, but those who thought Terri was in PVS resorted to rational, logical reasoning.

No argument to that perception.

The truth is ultimately what matters, not what side the perceived fringe elements took.

Swell, I agree. Will the autopsy reveal the truth?

Father Pavone and Terri's nurses were not too emotionally involved to discern the difference. BTW, one can be very emotionally involved and discern the difference between PVS vs. not PVS.

People in PVS cannot respond the way Terri did on the video, not even once.

Sorry but it was your perceptions, that Terri was in PVS, that were incorrect. Have you ever cared for people in PVS???? I have and Terri was not in PVS.

No, the autopsy will not reveal the truth. Too many people would then have much too lose. To discount this even as a possibility is extremely naive.

... No, the autopsy will not reveal the truth. ...

Sorry, all your emotion will not trump the truth. Your post stated nothing new, merely your opinion and perception. It's really too bad the emotional side had so little to offer when in court.

No, they are the fringe, RINOS, who when the chips are down always sway towards the Dems.

They're always going to pull that football away from you right when you're ready to kick it, Charlie Brown. Will you never learn?

Than the opinion of people like Laura Ingraham, Mark Levin, Rush Limbaugh, and almost all talkshow hosts must be based on emotion, because they agree with me.

My opinions are almost NEVER based on emotion.

Almost all prominent conservative leaders, talk show hosts and pundits (few of whom can be considered on the fringe), share our opinion about Terri. As did about 80 percent of people on Free Republic as well as Jim Robinson. It is the MAINSTREAM conservative opinion.

I suppose we are all guilty of being on the fringe and judging Terri's case emotionally. /sarcasm

Most of those who differed sided with the Left.

You just don't understand. The middleground aren't republicans, many of them are democratz. Many of them are feed up with the demonrat party and would desperately love to bail out of the corrupt institution, but when the look to the right they see the fringe. Many of them feel as I do, the extreme right is worse than the left. The middleground is everybody and all of us, they are the ones who make election victors.

Almost never, uh-huh. Cap usage potrays emotion. The entertainers you mentioned survive on emotion.

You made your feelings about conservatives clear here a long time ago.

Sarcasm tag shouldn't apply. It is unfortunate, but Free Republic has been tainted as and is perceived to be rightwing fringe. Our collective opinion is being discredited because of an emotional and vocal few. I'm not concerned about other choir members agreeing with you, I am concerned how your preaching is heard outside of the choir. The congregation is the middleground.

EVie, I am a conservative, but I certainly am not on the right fringe. To continue to associate the rightwing with conservatives in general is a disservice. But you know that, don't you?

You, as usual, unfairly place the mainstream of the conservative movement and the GOP in the 'extreme' or 'fringe' category.

Sorry Grunt. The opinion that was held by most of the people on FR regarding Terri is the opinion of most conservative leaders, talk show hosts and pundits and is a MAINSTREAM CONSERVATIVE opinion. By your standards they also must have tainted their own reputation and programs.

Our opinions shouldn't change because they are unappealing to people in the middle ground and make us look bad, IF that is indeed true. Neither should we be silent about them for that reason.

Unfair? Life is unfair. Most of us learn this in our teenage years.

I don't place the mainstream of the conservative movement in the extreme fringe category. The conservative movement has potential for great gains, with the cooperation of a feed-up middleground. With these great gains could come a refreshing of the judiciary, and this is what we all want, a return to the constitution. We do need the cooperation of the 'feed-up middleground', and as feed-up as they are with the demonratz they are terrified of the extreme right. It is for this reason I would like to show as much distance between the extreme right and the 'conservative movement' as possible.

Your perception belongs to you, mine to me. Most of the pundits have dropped it, but still, it is a wedge issue, benefiting some who are interested in the controversial nature of the debate. In the media, controversy sells, at FR, it divides.

Capping individual words does not portray emotion. It places EMPHASIS on particular words.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE?

That's right, almost NEVER and certainly not in the debate about Terri's case or regarding issues of a political nature.
