Throngs of police are combing the neighborhood looking for two suspects. A mile-and-a-half perimeter has been set up around the alley where the shooting happened.

Officer Down Memorial Page write-up:Sergeant Vick was shot and killed at approximately 0220 hours by two suspects while conducting an undercover investigation in a residential area near 7th Street and Forest Avenue. As Sergeant Vick and another officer contacted two suspects shots were fired and Sergeant Vick was struck several times. The two suspects fled the scene and remain at large.
Sergeant Vick had served with the agency for 16 years. He is survived by his wife and two children.
