Col. David. H. Hackworth, 1930-2005 Legendary U.S. Army Guerrilla Fighter, Champion of the Ordinary Soldier

Washington, D.C., May 5, 2005 – Col. David H. Hackworth, the United States Army's legendary, highly decorated guerrilla fighter and lifelong champion of the doughboy and dogface, ground-pounder and grunt, died Wednesday in Mexico.

I know the feelings about Col. Hackworth are wide and varied. But he WAS a soldier. 3 times nominated for the MOH (3rd one is currently being reviewed at the Pentagon)

I have disagreements with him on his politics and we even discussed some of them via e-mail at times. But he went above and beyond during his time in the uniform.

Prayes for him and his family.
