England's Sentencing Hearing Begins; Defense Seeks Leniency, Says England Oxygen-Deprived at Birth
FORT HOOD, Texas May 3, 2005 Defense lawyers sought leniency for Pfc. Lynndie England at a hearing Tuesday to determine her punishment in the Abu Ghraib prison abuse scandal, with a psychologist testifying that the reservist was oxygen-deprived at birth, speech impaired and had trouble learning to read.

Better question is why did the Army sign her up?
Take a good hard look at #11's pic. No, not the cat. Check out her eyes. Look, when you are an adult, you are supposed to act like an adult. When you are in the military, you are supposed to represent the USA, and yourself, impeccably. I think she might have a congenital problem, or maybe it is the lack of oxygen at birth.
It is well known that our soldiers and defenders of America, come from the ranks of the poor. How much time did JFK jr spend in the military? Have Barbara and Jenna signed up for a tour? I'm not dissing them, but it points out the difference. Everyone can joke about trailer trash, but I think I'd rather have Lynndie cover my ass, than Paris Hilton.
She's stricken with DBLS (Danny Bonaduce Lookalike Syndrome).
Right. Let's see, we've been in how many wars? We've never tortured or humiliated prisoners before this joke at Abu Graihb? Get real, the only reason why this hurt the Army was because some asshole sold the pics to the media. They hate anything American. No, I don't condone leashes and panties for terrorists. I'm not that nice.
I believe in the concept of personal responsibility. Every person is responsible for their actions, intentional or not. The media and liberals are constantly trying to push the point that something is not our fault because we were not capable. It's not my fault that I didn't think about retirement, the government should pay for it. Its not my fault that I was speeding, I thought the speed limit was lower. It's not my fault that I killed 2 children in another car, I was drinking. It's not my fault I'm a criminal, I was born poor.
All of its BS. I've seen people do great deeds with little resources and I've seen people fail trivial deeds with all the help they could ever want. The only difference is that one person says: "It's my responsibility to see that this task is accomplished."
Being oxygen depraved and having difficulty reading is a disability. This does not mean that it is an excuse. She took her ASVAB, she talked to the recruiters, answered questions similar to "are there any conditions mental or otherwise that prevent you from doing your job?", and always had the ability to talk to an Army psychologist stating that she had problems performing her duties. She was trained on the laws of the military and on the code of conduct of a soldier. How far does the military have to bend over to help her do her job correctly?
"Ive asked them to pull my thread above.."
Just don't ask a prisoner to pull your finger...
So you don't support the concept of justice? You don't think we as Americans are above the vermin we call terrorists? I would like to think we are and that the concept of national honor is more than just words. Perhaps my head is too far up in the clouds, but I believe that the freedoms and concepts that our country has fought for for hundreds of years are more important than simple revenge.
I certainly do support the concept of justice. The problem is that I support the old time definition of justice. This PC crap has gone on long enough. What would Patton do? Ask yourself that. This isn't revenge, it is a mediocre spanking, and the terrorists will take it back to their camps. We're weak compared to them. They execute people, and play soccer with their heads! I wish those leashes were rubber hoses. Maybe then those guys would get the message.
tooo funny, everybody's doin the Lyndee... http://badgas.co.uk/lynndie/

Her defense team appears to be taking cues from the big-spiky-I-am-woman-boots trend in D.C.
Stevie Wonder was oxygen deprived at birth but he still got MLK a national holiday.
Wow, those are some professional looking lawyers. Joe Pesci was held in contempt of court in Herman Muster's court for wearing a better suit than either of those ladies.
Just watching out for the yoots of America.
My first impression of the photo was that it looked like a bizarre feminist remake of My Cousin Vinny. The one with the gold spray paint outfit looks like she uses a crystal ball and has a 900 number on her business card. Maybe it's just me.
It's not just you...LOL
... it was taken by Time's "Ann Coulter" photographer.
So an idiot did an idiotic thing. How does that make her not guilty?
We did wrong in the past, so we should do wrong in the future. Got it.
Get real, the only reason why this hurt the Army was because some asshole sold the pics to the media.
No, the damage was done when those f'n idiots disgraced the uniform and their country with their half-assed Torquemada routine. The pictures just let the rest of us in on what sort of numbskullery they were up to.
They hate anything American.
So it was the media's fault? Not the morons who were cruel enough to do it in the first place, and then compound it with a world's championship piece of idiocy by photographing it?
LOL! Maybe Kathleen Johnson always wanted to be a Solid Gold Dancer.
