I've liked her teaching over the years--it's down to earth and common sense--but this looks like a lack of integrity and/or discipline. My sense of her personally is that she has a tendency to get grandiose and out of line, and then God has to reel her back in. But I think you probably need a healthy ego to do what she's done. I wish her wisdom and repentance, if necessary.

The only good TV evangelist is James Kennedy.

I guess everyone missed the point that the Bible is clear that Preachers are to 'the husband of one wife' so Meyers CANNOT be a preacher.

She is nothing but a con-artist.

You all sound like leftists, complaining about CEOs that make millions in salary, for what? Guiding a company through its day-to-day dealings. How much salary should a TV evangelist make? Minimum wage? Drive an '80s era hatchback? Obviously, some people are grateful for the ministry this woman provides and they express their gratefulness by sending her money.

One can criticize the Catholic Church for a variety of things, but one thing that is admirable is that most of her priests do live simple lives. Yes, they do not take a vow of poverty, and so can have private assets and bank accounts. And, yes, they do get free housing. But in most cases, I would guess 95%, the typical parish priest in the USA lives on a monthly salary less than $1000, drives a simple domestic-made car, saves up for a simple one-week vacation, and works exceedingly long hours. By comparison, these TV evangelists are the equivalent of the sellers and money-changers in the temple who turn devotion to the living God into a money-making scheme.

How about this spin.
We have a seperation of church and state.
The state should stay out of this. As long as these people are paying thier taxes on thier wealth they should be left alone. We pay extremely high salaries to CEO's.
As for thier followers, if they want to follow people ripping them off. Well they can be free to do that.
They will pay an incredible price when they get to heaven and I think they won't like it much.

Mrs. Meyer is going to burn in hell for eternity.

She preaches nothing but a health-and-wealth gospel.

She even said that if you are a good Christian, God will bless you with money.

She is an evil woman and false teacher.

Personally I like Joyce and think she's done a great service to millions of folks. She's has helped so many.

Part of her ministry funds go to fighting the activist judges. She has some extremely capable people in restoring our courts to following the 'written' constitution and stopping these judges from legislating from the bench.

Don't be so quick to believe what is written in the MSM....

She earns her money by filling the seats of the venues she plays. I was at Hersheypark the past Saturday, and she was playing at the adjacent Giant Center. Not an empty seat in the parking lot. Hershey, PA is not bible belt.

"The board agreed to give her husband, Dave Meyer, the board's vice president, an annual salary of $450,000 in each of those same two years."

The only time I ever see Dave, he's sitting in the front row grinning. Now I know why he's grinning.

So this lady manages to get people to give her money. Then people start crying foul. What is the difference between her and the political groups who ask for money all the time? Is it because she does it in the name of the Lord?

If people are stupid enough to give money to someone or something without checking it out first, it's at least 50% their own fault when they get scammed. I don't give money to anything that doesn't disclose its finances and isn't a charity I've thoroughly checked out. I only give money to four groups that I know very well and they're all charities.

Yeah, well, just hold on. There's no law that states a pastor or preacher or evangelist is supposed to be poor. Quite the opposite, as a matter of fact. I think there are those here who need to go do some homework on the issue (hint: the text is something called "The Bible"; well worth reading every now and then).

If you're of the school that equates poverty with piety, you're out of your mind.......as well as suffering from well and truly screwed up "theology".

Another hint: study tithing and its attendant results.

My all time Favorite T.V.tele-evangelist is Robert Tilton.

Nothing like a good shot of reality before the Sunday Nascar race.

During one program...Tilton had a mountain of prayer requests stacked on a table.
He ran...and hurled himself upon it.
Letters flying every which way.
Tilton ...screaming for Jesus to come help!

Joyce Meyer is dull....boring.
She is however very good for calibrating the color on your T.V.
Crisp red and blue dresses.
Yes....Thankyou Joyce : )
