Fox's "24" is pulling off the unthinkable this season. No, it's not that it's one-upping previous seasons with an electric blend of nightmare terrorist scenarios and bold twists. It's that it's dispensing with the politically correct evasions that pervade prime time episodic television. "24" identifies the terrorist enemy without flinching and lets the good guys fight to win -- without apologies. In the process, the show is earning a conservative cult following.

You're certainly in a nice mood. My wife works 11 PM to 7 AM right now. The only TV that can receive the show is where she is snoozing before running off for her shift. Watching a TV show isn't important enough to disturb her sleep. The only reason I saw any of the show was because I was on an out of town business trip in Birmingham, AL.
Keep changing your story, don't you? I personally don't care what you read or watch, but why act so superior to those that enjoy a show?
You are the one who labelled it intellectual. All I did was point out that the premise of the show is ridiculous, and is farce comedy at best.
It's been running once a year,for about 12 episodes each year,on A&E.
It's available for sale on DVD through the BBC website, but I got the DVD's from my public library and they are better than the A&E productions because they are not chopped for commercials.
If you ever get a chance to see it I know you'll enjoy it.
I see you're having the same silly argument with other posters on the thread. I typically watch less than 20 hours of TV each year. Go enjoy your TV show.
Dang! I wish FR had software to detect meaningless pissing contests and put them in pink fonts so we could skip over them ..... real quick.
My wife thinks so too.
Me ... being a political blood hound ... realized quite early on that the whole thing is a BBC anticonservative antiwesterncivilization nihilistic pile of crap.
I don't agree with your opinion of MI-5---and neither would my ultra liberal,Bush hating,NPR listening, middle aged daughter. (Maybe I just proved your point).
We both loved it for pure entertainment value,no more,no less.
Jack's excretory functions are handled by satellite uplink.
You appear to be of a disposition that will never hear good news.
Nice!!
So this guy ages a full year in just 24 hours?
And let's not forget how he conquered his heroin addiction OVERNIGHT, too!
24's Spock
I thought he was the John Edwards figure. There for all the wrong reasons, and completely unequipped.
The show is a cartoon.
Completely implausible impossible scenarios dreamed up by a writer with no concept of reality.
Some aspects are ok but the main plot is a joke.
It is virtually impossible to "steal" a fully armed F-117.
It is simply not possible to drive off road at night in the desert and easily go right to where you want to go.
Why didn't Jack tell the helo(with missles) to shoot both terrorist jeeps while they were parked at the power station. Failing that why didn't Jack order the helo to shoot both jeeps when they left the power station?
There's more but those are some major points that determine the heart of the story and are cartoonish.
It's hard to sound tough, with a british accent. No thanks.
Sorry. I'll take Elisha Cuthbert any day. (Or night.)
Excuse me, but the author of the article claimed 24 was realistic. I was pointing out that it was hardly realistic. Next time, I'll be sure to get your permission before commenting on a topic.
