Hopefully this will call attention to the voter fraud that does occur and will help reform along, however, I hope this does not backfire and provide Democrats with a platform upon which to build lawsuits for the presidency. The whole situation I think puts us all in a precarious situation because we either ignore voter fraud and genuinely disenfranchised voters; OR we (and by we, I'm speaking in generalities, as I neither reside in nor vote in Washington state) stand up for those whose votes were overlooked, not counted, manipulated, etc., yet give ammunition to the Democrats for future court battles. Unfortunately a great majority of those on the beach are left leaning at best (from my experience anyway) so the law suit could end up making Republicans look just as bad as Algore looked in 2000.

Someone also quoted famous Burke quote several posts ago, that all is required for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. I agree with that; but "good men" need to be careful in how they proceed with acting. Precedent can be an unfortunate thing to have used against you.

BTW, does anyone remember the voter fraud in Wisconsin, where Algore's operatives were waking up the homeless in shelters and trying to bribe them with cigarette to go vote? Did any charges ever come of that? I know some of the homeless had complained and it made headlines on election day. I'd actually forgotten about it until I read this thread.

This issue is being fought on the basis of a provision in the Washington State Constitution that permits the courts to invalidate an election in the event of fraud or incompetence.

There is no precedent in this case that can be used outside of Washington state.

I'm sorry-are you suggesting that the Republican Party is guilty of voter fraud?
