"This is exactly what Tancredo wrote in his editorial in the LAT and what he says publicly -- accusing President Bush of treason."

Which is, of course, exactly what Bush is doing. So why shouldn't it be said publicly? Is it because of the (R)??? How many times did you call CLOWNTOON or SKERRY traitors? Of course they ARE, and it should be known. Likewise with Bush. You cannot have it both ways. Not and not be called out on it anyway.

A GREAT post worth repeating. Sums up my beliefs perfectly:

>> FairOpinion,

Bush is just a man like any other, not God. Nor is Bush the only Republican around. Furthermore, Bush is a true political "moderate", not a conservative. The "media moderates" - McCain, Kean, Whitman, Snowe, Chaffee, et al are really liberals.

Having said all that, Bush has done a good job with the foreign war on terror - for the most part. He has done a good job with focussing on national morality issues like abortion. But he has done a bad job on Constitutional issues - he said he would sign a renewal of the assault rifle ban and he signed McCain Feingold which will come back later to bite OTHER Republicans in the butt in future elections, along with being a blatant violation of the First Amendment.

He has done a miserable job of defending the integrity of our national borders. His pandering to Mexico, which has actively employed its military forces to assist illegal invaders to violate our borders, is irrational. His "guest worker" program is bogus. If we need more workers, raise the immigration quotas for people who want to come here, work and remain as American citizens. Don't create a permanent underclass of exploited migrant workers who will serve as social tinder for unrest in the future while sucking off American dollars to foreign ratholes.

His reference to the minute men as "vigilantes" is inaccurate and offensive. His attitude and that of Karl Rove's towards Tancredo is not in keeping with the view of most Americans on this subject who are enraged at the failure of this administration to stop the increasing hemmorrhaging of our borders by an army of invaders.

I supported Bush for President both times, and have been am active Republican since Ronald Reagan's first run for the primary. So that makes me probably a better Republican than you.

So don't attack me or others on this forum when they point out failings in Bush's policies which should be obvious to any outside observer.

I want the Republicans to win in 2008. But their chances of doing so will be seriously compromised if Bush doesn't wise up to the popular opinion among Americans about his flawed policies with our hostile neighbor to the south.

It is very interesting that "FairOpinion" is outraged by Tancredo attacking the President's WRONG position on immigration, but it's ok for FairOpinion's hero Ahnuld to bash other Republicans over having the RIGHT position on racial privacy (a "right-wing crazy" proposal from Ward Connelly) or impeaching Clinton (he was "ashamed to be a Republican" because of Henry Hyde and Bob Barr. Awww. Poor baby.)

Why can't he talk about border security as an issue, without bashing Bush and accusing him of ulterior motives.

Because it is quite obvious the president has ulterior motives. How do you explain his pushing for amnesty, refusal to enforce the borders, and fighting any legislation designed to crackdown on illegal immigration ?

Tancredo is a LOSER.

Yes, a loser who's won re-election 3 times. He's just a loser who keeps winning!

As I said before, he is using immigration to make a name for himself and to bash President Bush.

All politicians try to make a name for themselves, and President Bush deserves some bashing, so what's the problem?

If he wanted real reforms, he would put the ISSUE above himself, instead of the other way around.

How exactly is he putting himself above the issue?

What Mexico does at their southern border is kill on sight illegal aliens crossing over.

But amazingly, 20% of our illegals come from Central America via Mexico. Apparently "sealing the border" with shooters doesn't work that well.

Both the administrations of President Clinton and the current President Bush have miserably failed to protect this nation's borders.

Along with the administrations of every single President all the way back to the first George.

Well either that or they are able to successfully fool the bp at Mexico's southern border. There are also of course immigrants landing in Mexico (only temporarilly) from Middle East, China, Meditreanan area, and of course probably most of the rest of this planet who are only temporarilly in Mexico by Plane and cross over the border into the U.S.

This probably also happens in Canada as well. Oh, and don't forget, China runs the Panama Canal and we have Chinese military hanging around down there as well. Which may or may not be a threat to us.

"I predict that the immigration reform movement is about to score a monumental victory in Congress with the impending passage of "Real ID," a measure that will, among other things, set federal standards for driver's license documents and prohibit states from giving driver's licenses to anyone in this country illegally."
Does anyone else shiver at the idea of the "Real I.D." theory?

As I said, the issue is NOT illegal immigration -- virtually everyone is AGAINST that

Except Bush.

The issue is that unscupulous politicians, LIKE TANCREDO, using that to attack President Bush.

I'm past caring. I just want the f***ing border closed and I don't care how many (or whose) political careers have to be ruined to make it happen.

Tancredo is the man! he is one of the few politicians willing to be honest about immigration. His stance takes guts especially here in Colorado where we have a huge Hispanic population. Just this last week an illegal ambushed two Denver police officers and killed one of them. who knows, if we had stopped this jack@ss at the border maybe this dead officer would still be able to go home to his family at night.
