As much as we need the police, there are some stupid cops.(Terri Schiavo and the 10 year old handcuffs) They can't separate book learned robotism with common sense. And to get protective services involved means this will plague Enloe foever.

When my son was 17, I was working out of town. He decided he was a man and didn't have to listen to his mother. After arriving home my wife kept this from me in fear of the boys well being. One night he pushed her and told her he didn't have to do what she told him.

 

I knocked him clear under the kitchen table!  A belt was not needed in this situation. He was a heck of a lot more respectful of his mother after that. LOL

Welcome to FR. I can think of better examples of when cops have done stupid things. The officers in your example were probably cursing themselves for not calling in sick that day.
