I also vote for Gunga Dan Goebbels-Rather
and the 60 Minutes Bush TANG story.
Fahrenheit 911
CBS News - 60 Minutes II - Dan Blather
CBS/Rather is clearly #1 -- the NY Times own faked "October Surprise" should get #2, as it gets the nod for its malicious intent to tilt/corrupt the election process directly.
It was like being in third grade all over again.
Absolutely disgusting.
Holy mackerel this is a toughie! But my choice has to be the one I feel could have done the most damage, and that, in my opinion, was the cBS hit piece using forged documents to try and alter the outcome of our Presidential election.
Not only was it disgusting journalism, it should have been investigated criminally.
Oops. Disregard my previous vote for one. Here are my top ten choices.
1. ABC News and Nightline (commie vs. Swifties)
2. CBS News for the Sixty Minutes (COURAGE!!)
3. The Boston Globe for publishing a photograph (porn photos)
4. Eason Jordan (CNN)
5. The Associated Press and Reuters (toy doll)
6. The New York Times, ("breaking" explosive story about explosives)
7. Guiliana Sgrena
8. The BBC
9. The Err America
10.The Daily Mirror (British soldier photo)
My vote is a "ditto" of Killborn's:
For absolute distortions, lies & making stuff up:
1. Dandy Dan and the cBS Tx National Guard Story
2. Scott Lindlaw and the "booing"
3. Eason Jordan and the assassination of journalists
4. Boston Globe and the seal-killing story
5. Farenheit 911
For not bothering to check the facts:
6. The GI doll "prisoner"
7. Boston Globe and the photos that came off a porn website
For continuously doing all of the above:
8. Air America
9. Nightline
All the nominees were MOST worthy!
I agree, The Dan Rather fake docs story has to be it. The GI Joe Cody story is second but not even close the significance of the Rather docs story.
Final selection: (keeping in mind that these actions were deliberate actions meant to sway opinion by deception.)
1- CBS/Dan Rather
2. AP G.I. doll
3. Ted Koppel and the Kerry silver star
4. Fahrenheit 911
5. Boston Globe and the porn site
6. Eason Jordan and killing journalists
7. Air America
8. NYTimes and their phony story
9. Edward Lee Pitts for distorting Rumsfeld's remarks.
10 Boston Globe and the seal hunt.
There has to be a special mention for the disgusting Dr. Jeckyl/Mr. Hyde performance of Chris O'Donnell
Vote for the NY Times in trying to solicit and make up news to their liking.
Anyway, here are my votes:
CBS
Eason Jordan
Scott Lindlaw/AP
Reuters and AP-Captured toy soldier
NY Times-soliciting anti-Republican op-eds
Nightline
Boston Globe-photo
Boston Globe-seal hunt
Detriot Free Press/Mitch Albom
BBC
"Freepers vote today.......DU lurkers vote on Sunday."
LOL!
Or any day 24/7, between now and New year's eve. We understand the difficulty you guys have getting out of those straight/gay? jackets and planning your escape at a time when the nearest Library is open and it's community computers on line.
We understand that you must keep your priorities in order, and we realize that a large number of you are still searching for the proper place to cast your vote for Algore in the 2000 election.
Take your time folks, but in the meantime-may we play through?
Two hours left to vote. No St. Louis judge available to keep the polls open late today.
Bumping the Vote thread!
