The footnotes to the online article

Have the prophecy addicts considered that the Pope chose this name partially because it would seem to fulfill Malachy?

111 on that list, and is described in a text attributed to St. Malachy as the "Glory of the Olive." Before the Papal election everyone with any chance was tied to the prophecy be it his skin color, coat of arms, name etc. Most of the list has been incorrect or a real stretch, though the Popes listed BEFORE the "discovery" fit rather well!

My mom's been warning me that the end of the world is coming for about the past 30 years. Well, to be honest, she's more right now than she was 30 years ago. And it is coming. When is another matter.

Interesting point... The liberal Cardinals rallied around Cardinal Martini. I'm sorry, but THAT'S FUNNY!

Well, according to the Maya, we have until 2112. December 24 2012 actually. So unload long term stocks for a start.

As I mentioned in post #49, in the first ballot, he roughly tied for the lead with 40 votes... against Cardinal MARTINI, the liberal's guy.

Have the prophecy addicts considered that the Pope chose this name partially because it would seem to fulfill Malachy? Yes, and I also considered the possiblitly that the last pope chose to be born on the day of an eclipse and be buried on the day of an eclipse, ... but not for long.
To: Chi-townChief
OK, let's put in all on the line. If St. Malachy is right, we' re all at the mercy of a vengeful God.
If St. Malachy is full of sh*t, we're still at the mercy of a vengeful God.
I feel so loved....not.
