Big Brothers and Big Sisters have been good programs that helped many kids over the years. We can't toss out these programs just because of a few problem participants.
The case against this man seems strong and the accuser seems credible. The case should go to trial and possible conviction. That means the system can deal with those who are the bad apples.
We can't damn the programs (BB, Boy Scouts, churches, etc.) as they do much more good than the few problem cases that arise. Parents just have to be careful who is around their children and check up on what's happening, even Uncle Eddy can turn out to be a bad guy.
Also, an accusation can be false. The accused should be given the presumption of innocence and not railroaded to jail by an over zealous prosecutor who is out to make a name for himself (Janet Reno started out this way).
True. The sad thing is that regardless of whether the story is for real, the damage has already been done. A fine organization, its volunteers and participants have all been besmirched.
My friend who is an avid volunteer is not gay and is not a pedophile. His first little brother ironically is now a doctor. His father had died of cancer when he was small, and his mother fortunately recognized that he would need some male guidance. Hats off to her for making sure her son got the help he needed. And I'm glad my friend was there to help.
His current little brother was in "juvee" at age 11 for stabbing another boy. He is now about to graduate from high school with honors. Last I heard he had a number of prestigious colleges and universities after him (including a few Ivy League)...although I don't which one he chose (I'm assuming he has by now). Looks like he too will be another success story.

The difference between the Boy Scouts & churches and Big Brothers Big Sisters is that with the Scouts and churches, an occasional pervert may slip through the cracks, but with Big Brothers Big Sisters, there is an organizational policy to actively recruit from a population that is sexually aberrant, thus willingly exposing the children the organization supposedly serves to much higher risks of exploitation.
You seem to miss the point entirely. The problem is not that one boy was molested, which is horrible in itself. The main problem here is that the organization has adopted a policy that will make such incidents commonplace. If they insist upon such policies, then they should, and must be "tossed out."
Just like the girl scouts they compromised and accepted sexual deviants into their organization. As a result they are now overrun and are solidly pro-homosexual groups that must be shunned.
The reputation of everyone involved in BBBS is suspect as the organization is a gay front group.
